I purchased this end mill as the final drill bit necessary to complete my 80% lower, and it worked beautifully. The shipping was fast and the quality of the product is exactly what I would expect. For the End Mill itself, there is more than enough shank to reach down to the required depth, and it finished the metal with a smooth and "finished" look and feel. I loved it and the company. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to use it for this or a similar application.

I needed a smooth wall, a squared bottom mill and something that could mill with a drill-press and keep sharp. It did it all. after three Billets and a lot of milling, I can still cut myself on the edges. This thing is really strong. Here is a little Q&A:
1. Will it plunge cut/mill? YES
2. It the shaft diameter the precisely the same as the cutting diameter? YES
3. How many flutes? 4
4. How Long overall? 2.545"
5. Length of Flutes?1.068"
6. What Material is it made from? CARBIDE.
7. Does it mill Aluminum 7075-T6? YES, Without breaking a sweat and without any lube.
8. Can it mill an 80% Lower? I have three that say YES, very well with smooth walls and bottom.
9. Does the bottom have teeth and will it square to the walls? YES, Like no other.
0. Would I buy it again? ABSOLUTELY.

finally got far enough yesterday to use this on my AR15 lower project, worked great, just take your time and don't rush it. be sure and tighten chuck in all 3 holes to hold it as it came loose once, but reset and made sure very tight and rpm to 700, then worked with no problem. also stop and oil your jig rim several times.

Does the job admirably, even when using a drill press as a makeshift milling machine. You won't go wrong with this tool.

I didn't have any noticeable problems with chatter, like some people state carbide bits will do. Maybe because I run it at a relatively low speed (about 600RPM) on my drill press. I imagine it would be even quieter on a milling machine. I hardly used any oil at this low of a speed. I could probably use no oil (oil makes the shavings stick to the bit), but I wanted to play it safe. It barely got warm. My drill-press motor got warm after running for hours, though.

I actually bound it up in my aluminum "paper weight" while milling with my belt-driven drill press on low-speed (about 600RPM), and it SEIZED my 1/6 HP motor without breaking! As soon as I flipped the power switch off it immediately slipped out of the aluminum with no damage to the bit (or my aluminum, thank God). High speed probably would have snapped it, because I THINK there is more torque at high speed (large drive pulley, small driven pulley). Low speed is a small drive pulley with a large driven pulley.

The reason it bound was because I first drilled several 1/8" holes, then drilled those 1/8" holes out with a second larger drill bit, making it look like a bunch of ragged fingers sticking out (the second bit was too large). That alowed the aluminum "fingers to flex and get trapped in the flutes. I won't do that again! Next time I will just drill out the center row with a 3/8" drill bit, then mill it out.

I used this on my 80% "paper weight" lower. It's so sharp I cut my finger while wiping it off with a paper towel (DOH!).

I would definitely purchase this bit again!

This thing worked like a mule. Chewed through a good sized chunk of aluminum without much hesitation. Great product, highly recommend

I used this to finish an AR-15 lower receiver and it worked perfectly!!! As a word of caution, the flute length is about 1 inch, so the first pass with the milling process can be a little rough as its milling a lot of material!!! LOVE this end mill

used this to mill out my ar15 lower receiver (along with other bits and tools) and it worked like a champ leaved a very smooth finish.
