I am in love with this kit and so easy to use.

This will be a great help with my paper bead making because I have trouble with my hands working with toothpicks.
Jean S.
Great idea in theory, but in practice it is very difficult for younger kids (3 to 5) to do on their own.

This tool is tricky, and I don't think it's worth the cost. I work with students ages 6-14, and while the older students have mastered the device, the younger students are frustrated by it. It requires good fine motor skills; you have to use the right pressure (or the paper tears) and apply glue with a light hand (or the beads get stuck on the device). After using this for a few crafting sessions, I've found that glue gets built up on the device, and it needs to be cleaned in order to work properly. Some of the students still enjoy using this for its novelty, but others are happier using toothpicks to create their recycled beads. It's a simpler technique, especially for younger kids.

I have taught paper bead making classes and I really recommended this product.

First off it is a little difficult to get the hang of but once you can do it you can make paper beads that look perfect and turn them out soo fast it is hard to believe! Much better than what I had been doing for years with a wooden skewer or toothpick.

The thickness of the bead you make depends on how long and wide the paper strip you feed to the device is. So I must disagree with the above reviews saying the beads this makes are too small. You pick the size by how you cut your paper.

This is made of really strong, heavy duty plastic. I think it will last forever for me.

My only problem is figuring out how to glaze the beads afterwards since I have to take them off the device to do it.

Overall this is still a 5 star, A++ Product! I LOVE IT!

(I recommend a paper cutter to go with this so paper strips can be cut much faster and more accurately.)

I love this tool! I have rheumatoid arthritis and rolling the beads the old fashioned way with a tooth pick would make my hands cramp after while This tool really makes it easy and is fast too! I have read other reviews about some complaints and I have solutions for some of them. "Makes beads too small..." Use larger strips of paper, I have had no problems with bead sizes. "Glue builds up on tool and needs to be cleaned often..." I remove the bead before gluing and slide it on to a tooth pick, the push the pick in the lid of a Styrofoam container to make sure they dry with out sticking to anything. This will keep the tool clean. "Too hard for younger kids..." Try get it started for them then let them finish the beads. Also practice makes perfect, at first you don't succeed, try try again.

The recycled paper bead roller is a good tool but you can only make small beads with a fairly large hole. It would be great if you could make a larger variety of bead sizes,

The delivery was fast and received Saturday 18 and I place the order on May 16,2013. Wow I am so happy. I am in love with this kit and so easy to use. I have made a temple of the 4 different size beads and the beads are small and cute. I did not want the big beads. So, this 4mm size is perfect and I made bracelet and necklace set.

There really isn't much in this little box but the ideas have not ended for my kids. They use newspaper, magazine ad's, what ever has bright colors to make an endless supply of beads. This is truly one of those crafts you can turn your kids loose with, and not have to worry about.

I bought this as a craft to use in our adult day program for something different to do for Earth Day. We are planning on making jewerly out of paper and other recycled items. This tool is not as easy as it looks and takes quite a bit of coordination. I am stil on the fence as to whether we should keep it or not.

If you buy it, make sure to attach to the tool to a 2 liter bottle. This way you can hold the bottle between your legs for stability and have two hands available, so one can hold the paper and the other to turn the hand tool. This is a little bit cumbersome for our developmentally challenged adults.

This may be a good paper bead making machine for a child. The kit includes some good bead making starter materials. The machine takes some munipalation and takes three hands to work. I cut down a large plastic soda bottle with the bottom removed. I perfer using a glue stick rather than the glaze in the kit. Making paper beads is fun
