I purchased two of these. The first failed in 3 weeks.

The other I puchased for my home office but did not install yet when the one in my

NYC office failed. So I brought in the one from home. I didn't think anything of it

and for $19, I wasn't even going to bother to ask Amazon to replace it.

However today, 2 weeks, 2 days since the last failure, the second one failed.

I checked the power supplies on both units with a VOM meter. Both were

putting out just over 5V. When the first one failed and I brought the second in

to the office I plugged the 2nd one in to the power adapter of the first and

it worked fine. So the power adapters are good. It appears the Hubs are poor.

Well, if you figure you get a 1 year warranty on a IPOD you spend $299 on, and

I got3 weeks and just over 2 on these $19 USB hubs, I suppose I got my moneys

worth. But rarely do you expect your Ipod to fail in 1 year. I didn't expect these

to fail in under 3 weeks either.

I think I will switch brands and each the $40. I have not seen a USB hub actually

fail before and I have been in the networking industry for over 20 years. (Well

USb hasn't been around that long :). I suggest you buy an alternate. Maybe I got a

bad batch??? I suppose others may comment. But if you figure all the people that

have purchased this unit, and I am the first review.... I wouldn't bother to review it

like most others. Who expects a USB hub to fail in 2-3 weeks??
