This hub does what it's supposed to, allowing you to attach USB devices without having to be at the level of the machine, or to attach more devices than there are ports on the motherboard. I like this hub: it's small, inobtrusive, and requires zero configuration. Potential buyers should note one caveat, however. The light on the unit is extremely bright and if you use the hub in self-power mode (that is, use the AC adapter that ships with it instead of it being powered by the USB bus), the light stays on even when the host machine is powered down. This may be distracting if your computer is in a bedroom, for example. It not, it would make a great night light!

I needed a 7 port, but saw all the reviews of them being underpowered, overheating wastes of money.

Bought one of these locally, was small and worked great, rather than replacing it with a 7 port, I bought a second and ganged them. 7 ports, two power supplies, haven't had a problem with underpowered ports yet. No heat build up either.

Only issues I have, it uses the small USB connecter similar to phones, so I couldn't easily use a longer cable (traded a 6' one from a hub my wife had) and the blue is really bright and always there.

The Hub arrive on schedule and works fine I am happy with the purchase and have beeen using the product for about 3 weeks

I tested this Belkin hub against Radio Shack's Gigaware 4 port USB Hub, an equivalent device (it wasn't called "high speed", but still was rated up to 480 Mbps). Belkin rated favorably. After attaching two external hard drives to the hub, Belkin transferred a 255MB file from external hard drive to external hard drive in 1m39s. When doing the same with the Radio Shack, the transfer took 2m11s. Belkin's power rating is 2 amps, Radio Shack is 2.6 amps, so there's some energy savings with the Belkin. And Belkin was significantly less expensive. I cannot speak to quality since I've only owned it one day. Everything about the Belkin was superior except it's appearance. That is, when powered, the blue LED is excessively bright, which is unnecessary and annoying since the device is in our bedroom. OVerall, though, I am happy with it.

Just as the name says "Belkin". This model has no heat or speed issues. Wait did I say no heat or speed issues yes I did. The only thing I didn't know about this 4 port Hub was that it comes with a power supply cord to get the speed advantage power supply must be plugged in, but once again no heat or speed issues. I do suggest the 6ft or longer usb cord though. Well good deal.

I connect an All In One printer and a 1TB & 160GB Personal Media Drives through it and all works well.
The size is great, very simple plug and play. The light is pretty bright which is no problem since my computers are in the office, not the bed room, even there I don't see that it would be a problem for us.

This is a great little USB hub. The blue light is bright, but we just turn it upside down on the desk and it doesn't bother us. I am able to capture video from our digital video camera through this hub smoothly and consistently. I have enjoyed it and the Amazon USB extension cable well enough that I ordered a second for our other computer.

Installation is a breeze, just plug it in. Connect to a power source and connect devices. It is a well made, compact USB port.

I wanted a hub with it's own power supply (not usb), excellent performance and good construction. This product does it all.

Very satisfied with this product. It works as stated with my laptop. I connect my printer and Magic-Jack. Love the blue-light which provides a nice night light.
Shipping was very fast (received in four days). Product meets all expectations and Amazon always does a great job both in price and service.
