The 4Sevens Preon 2 has been my every day carry for over a year now. I previously carried the Streamlight Stylus Pro for almost 2 years, so that is what I am comparing it to. First off, I love the brightness and multiple modes of operation of the Preon 2. The body of the light is thinner than the Stylus Pro which makes it easier and more comfortable to carry. The finish and build of the Preon 2 are also superior than the Stylus Pro - while the Stylus Pro is a tank, it gets beat up pretty quickly while the Preon 2 still looks practically new after heavy use.

Now for my main issues with the Preon 2, which I think heavily detract from the great features of the light. First is the pocket clip, it is total garbage. They didn't use a good spring steel so it quickly loses its grip and needs to be bent back. This can only be done a few times before the clip breaks, and I've already had to replace it once and will need to replace it again soon. The Stylus Pro's clip, on the other hand, keeps a firm grip for a good long time, and the clip only broke after a couple years of service. Furthermore, the Preon 2's clip doesn't hold well even when new - the light is constantly slipping out of my pocket when seated. I'm actually on my second Preon 2 as I lost my first this way. This may also have a bit to do with the slick finish of the light. I don't think I've ever had an issue with Stylus Pro escaping from my pocket.

Next it the tail cap. There is no protection around the button and the button doesn't need to be pressed into a recess to activate. This causes the light to constantly turn on by accident when it's in my pocket, leaving me to walk around with a light shining from my rear while killing the batteries.

Love the amount of illumination and the modes especialy in the tiny pen sized package, but mine seems to want not to turn on with the first click all the time when i tighten the end cap fully.

This is a very good option for Everyday carry providing good functionality and flexibility. The flashligt's materials and build quality are excelent although the clicky switch opperation is a bit sticky for my taste and likelly to be accidentally activated since it protrudes from the back of the flashlight. Interface and opperation modes make this a versatile option allowing to choose beam intensity or battery life as needed. Personally I generally rather a tighther beam capable of throwing light at higher distances, but it is not a must for Every Day Carry purposes. Focus aside, the beam is very clean and nice. Would be really nice if Four Sevens offered different "heads" with different reflectors to allow more focus options....
Value wise,it is more on the expensive side, since there are other options (even from the same manufacturer) that offer better "bang for the buck" but it is very reliable, sturdy and functional. I also own the Mini AA which is also great but falls a bit short in light intensity and the twisty switch makes it difficult to get to the desired mode with only one hand.
I would not recommend Preon 2 for outdoor flashlight use since a better throw is needed but for every other application it is a very solid choice (if you are willing to invest $67 in it.) I took out 1 star for value and Throw/beam focus.

I have this size and the smaller size. Very bright and use AAA so batteries are easy to get a hold of. The titanium is probably not necessary but that's up to the end user. I'm going to buy a few more and stash them in each of my bags.

The only downfall to the preon 2 is that I often inadvertently turn it on in my Pocket. This lead to the light not working one time when I needed it. Other than that I have this light on me every day, and even bought a second one. They have newer ones that are abut brighter, but this light is plenty bright.

Not other pen light comes close to the functionality of the preon2. It has good runtime, and more modes than I'll ever need. I really like that it comes on in low mode. That way I don't have it disturbing others if I just need a quick light. I would recommend this light to anyone.
