Editorial Reviews

Review

We have all been seduced by the ubiquitous, yet irresistible, fat-quarter. But what do we do with these tempting, jewel-like squares of fabric? This book presents over 40 projects to inspire - from small to large, from functional to fabulous. Organized by the number of fat-quarters required, there is something for everyone and the perfect excuse to collect more FQs! Well illustrated in colour, with clear diagrams and full-size templates, this is an excellent book for the keen sewer.-East Kent Embroiderers' Guild

This has some nice projects, but a lot of them require yardage beyond the 5, 10 or 15 fat quarters. If I'd been able to look at it first, I would not have bought it. Unfortunately I don't have a decent shop nearby so I have to take these chances with books.

My daughter just bought this book and was VERY disappointed by it. While the title suggests that the projects can be completed with the given number of fat quarters, it was expected that a few things might be needed for the batting, backing, binding, and embellishments; HOWEVER, it was NOT the expectation that the projects would require the given number of fat quarters PLUS up to several yards of additional fabric (NOT intended for the backing or binding). The title is very misleading and the necessity for so many extras needed to complete a project should have been included in the book's description.

What a book! Loaded with lots of great projects that are both quick and easy.
I have made two totes and the prarie-point coasters and am ready to make more!
Big stash of fat quartes? Not so big stash? Beginner or seasoned quilter, this book is for you

THE PROJECTS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS I HAD HOPED. SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE FOR A WHILE. THE BOOK SEEMS TO BE A COLLECTIONS OF PAST PATTERNS. VERY DISAPOINTED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU ARE A NEW QUILTER AND CRAFTER.

This book is wonderful. Even a beginner could make anyone of these projects and just because they are all made with Fat Quarters I used my scraps and no two are alike. I had as much fun reading the book as makeing the projects. Well worth the price

I was disappoined with the book. I expected more quilt patterns. It contained more miscellenous projects that were relatively too easy for what I was looking for.

If you like using fat quarters to quilt, but are stuck for ideas - grab this book now. It's packed with projects that can be used to decorate your home or as gifts for friends. It is not confined to quilts but includes ideas for the whole home. It's an attractive book with clear instructions and photographs. It's not aimed at the teenage sewer but the over 35's. Useful for those who want to make smaller projects such as bags, aprons and table runners. There are one or two full-size quilts too. This review first appeared on Karen Platt's book review website.
