5.0 out of 5 stars A real treat for their sixties fans.
The original members of Manfred Mann, including Paul Jones (Do Wah Diddy) and Mike d'Abo (The Mighty Quinn) have reunited without Manfred himself to perform on the club circuit in Britain.

This 60-minute set is apparently made up of the songs which make up their act, which is to say the radio hits the teenagers of the '60's remember most nostalgically.

It was great...

3.0 out of 5 stars Adequate remakes by originals
The Manfreds do a decent job on this cd, but there is just a HINT of "dine and dash" at times. The production sounds cheesy in places, which is what happens when you rely on synths to reproduce something that was organically analog in it's original incarnation.

It was great fun for me to hear this for the first time - the next best thing to being there.

The musicianship, including the singing, is better than ever. The sound is uncluttered, with the "recorded live in the studio" feel.

Perhaps those who have no memory of Manfred Mann would be better served by a package of their original recordings. For those of us who have an emotional attachment to those originals, this is great!
