5.0 out of 5 stars works just fine
This ink works as well as the Cannon ink, but three times less money. The other reviewers are right, wear rubber gloves when opening and installing the tanks. It's not but a drop in a couple of the packages, but printer ink stains deep and bright. The drop or two in the package does not affect the ink's performance. Try it, you'll like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars NO chips. DOES NOT WORK.
The ink tanks I was sent did not include chips and DID NOT WORK with my printer. They included instructions on how to swap the chips from your old tanks but that did not work correctly. They also leaked like crazy compared to the Canon branded ones I've bought in the past and made a HUGE MESS.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not order- an inky mess awaits you, August 16, 2009
This review is from: 5-Pack Non-OEM Ink w/ Chip for Canon PGI-5BK CLI-8 Compatible Pixma MP500 MP530 MP600 MP800 iP4200 iP4300 iP4500 iP5200 iP5200 (Electronics)
Of the five cartridges, the blue left a trail of ink on my table, printer, and inside the printer (and I thought I was being clever by not getting ink on my hands after reading the other reviews warnings). The magenta also left a trail of ink inside the printer, and even though the packaging looked exactly like the others, the cartridge itself was completely different. It still fit, but it did not look like the others. The yellow cartridge I haven't unwrapped yet, but it is only half full, the small black I haven't unwrapped yet, so who knows, but the large black cartridge looks like it exploded inside it's plastic bag.
I wish I could add a picture to this review to show you what I saw when I opened up the packaging, but suffice to say, there is no way this could possibly be opened without getting ink EVERYWHERE, It would be pointless anyway, as based on the sheer amount of ink that's outside of the cartridge in the plastic wrapping, there surely can't be much left inside the cartridge.
Spend a few bucks more, don't get something unusable and damaging like these cartridges.
BTW, anyone have any idea how to clean pools of ink from the inside of a printer????

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't ever purchase this multi ink pack, September 17, 2009

I've performed the deep cleaning on my computer now about five times just trying to get the yellow ink to work and it will not. I am using up all my other ink just trying to get the one to work. This is a huge waste of money and a waste of my time just trying to get it to work like it should. Unfortunately I will stick with the expensive stuff. I'm very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars ink review, July 4, 2009

I was skeptical because of the inexpensive nature of this product. But these cartridges went in my printer without a hitch and I had no problem with excess ink coming out.... will definitely use this product again!

The first picture I printed came out okay. The second was okay for the top quarter and then the blue stopped. I cleaned the print heads several times and sometimes there's blue and sometimes not. All the colors are faint. My old Canon blacks are working as they should.

These Cartridges have a larger INK to SPONGE ratio, as I was surprised when I pulled my old discount ink cartridges out--they were 75% foam and 25% ink. These cartridges are just the opposite-- 25% foam and 75% ink. I haven't used it up yet, but I would probably deduce that it would last much, much longer.

Also, these cartridges did not leak at all. They came with very sturdy nozzle caps that were easy to remove without getting ink all over your hands. Some other nozzle caps are really small and you're guaranteed to get it on your hands. These were designed very well.

I would by these from now on.

After I tried it the first day, I gave 5 stars - I now changed my review to the one below, but Amazon did not permit to change the rating of stars....

REVISED REVIEW:

Used these cartridges in my Canon MP610.
Very sceptical at first because the ink looked very liquid in these cartridges - a thing I never experienced on the original Canon product...
Very sceptical also because I am a professional photographer and use this printer only to print high quality pictures for customers...
At first I replaced only two empty cartidges and not all 5. No problems at all. I then changed my mind, thinking it may be better (more safe) not to mix Canon and this new product - I replaced all of them.

Results:
1. I was not able to see much of a difference in results of picture quality between the Canon cartridges and this product! Maybe a bit lighter than the Canon ink.
2. I then tried black and white pictures which came out in good quality but showed a slight blue touch.
3. I then tried to print a regular document which came out unreadable. Changing the printer setting to highest quality, a usable print came out, but rather grey than black print.

The surprise I had the following morning when I tried to print a regular document - the sheet came out white with no print at all. Looks like one of the black cartridges does not work. I was not able to print any black print document at all and paper just comes out white.
Trying now photos again, showed reasonable results but I am very worried now about my printer and will go out to buy Canon again.

Product no good!

2.0 out of 5 stars No digital reset, August 24, 2009
This review is from: 5-Pack Non-OEM Ink w/ Chip for Canon PGI-5BK CLI-8 Compatible Pixma MP500 MP530 MP600 MP800 iP4200 iP4300 iP4500 iP5200 iP5200 (Electronics)
The price is right on this product, but the installation process doesn't seem complete. You remove chips from the old ones and insert them into the new ones. Then reset the system. However, it doesn't appear to truly reset as the next time you try to print it says you're out of ink again and you have to over-ride it again with a reset. Well it's a 5 step process that requires you read the instruction each time. Kind of annoying.

I'm so impressed with these ink cartridges, and the fact that they come with the little computer chip (without having to install chips from your older cartridges) makes the deal even better. This is even cheaper than getting your cartridges refilled... I'm buying another set right now, maybe two.

Do wear plastic/rubber gloves when opening up the cartridges, they do spill, and these inks really stain. Open them over a folded paper towel as well and dab the ink opening with the towel before installing just to avoid a bigger mess when you turn them over to install in your printer.
