I purchased the come along on 7/22/10 finally got out to use it on 8/21/10. Within 10 minutes the cable popped, keep in mind the initial 6 minutes is setting it up. Our group figures it was a defective device because we immediately used a 3 ton version of it with much success. The 5 ton come along came from ToolPrice, I doubt if they exchange it but BE WARNED. Avoid this product.

I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. The cable broke very soon after I started the project. I finished the job with an older 1500 lb come along which I did not think was up to the load. There is no way this product is rated at 10,000 lb. IT IS JUNK.

OK it's a 5 ton come along... maybe the tree I was trying to pull was more than 5 tons, but I doubt it. The come along bent on the first attempt to use it, making it difficult to "un come along". This winch is cheaply put together.

The bent part is on the inside of the drum, the thingy that activates the release clutch. You gotta stick a screw driver or something in there to push it vack. WHen trying to do this with the come along stretched tight - it is darned scary.

Where can I buy an American made come along? This low quality crap from China makes me think there must be a Chinese a plot against our country!
