5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly
What's there to say. It fit perfectly and all 400+ pounds of saw rolls around easily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mobile base for Jet Xacta Deluxe Saw, July 23, 2008
This review is from: DELTA 50-284 Mobile Machine Base Extension (For 52-Inch Unifence) (Tools & Home Improvement)
When I purchased my Xacta saw from a local shop he said, "oh you need the Delta 50-289 base, I have been using those for years." Well Jet decided to make this cabinet saw larger than the previous models. I am not knocking the saw and it is a thing of beauty and runs perfectly.

Anyway, so I get home with the Delta 50-289 and it does not fit. After a call to Jet I confirmed that the saw is bigger. What I ended up ordering was a Delta 50-277 base and the 50-284 extension. The base is about an inch and half bigger all the way around, but works great.

The extension is designed to use the wheel from the 50-277, but the location of the lifter does not work all that well as there is too much flex. I ended up putting the lifter and wheel back on 50-277 in the original spot and it works great. I had to shim the legs for the saw as this extension is not quite long enough. I am happy with it and it is much better than the ones that Jet sells or the HTC brand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fits the Powermatic 64 w/ 50" fence and table, June 17, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: DELTA 50-284 Mobile Machine Base Extension (For 52-Inch Unifence) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this 50-284 base extension and the 50-277 machine base (ASIN B000022364) to use with my Powermatic 64 tablesaw, which has the 50" fence and table. I was a bit worried about whether the other part was properly sized for the Powermatic 64's foot dimensions, but it was just fine. This part mostly accomodates the extension table's feet, because the joints for the extension table feet are not predrilled or anything, so you control their placement.

I only had one little problem -- and I believe it is either my misunderstanding something or a problem with the Powermatic extension table -- not a problem with this base: The feet that came with the table saw extension table were not tall enough to reach down to the mobile base's angle irons, even when the feet were unscrewed completely from the legs. Seems pretty odd to me, as that means they were probably not tall enough for use without the mobile base, either... But the problem was very easily solved by cutting a piece of scrap wood and laying it down across the mobile base extension's depth, which then added enough height for the feet to make contact.

I gave the product 4 stars because I feel it is overpriced.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not provide enough leverage, June 28, 2011

The location of the 3rd wheel needs to be closer to the end of the base. Where it is does not properly balance the saw with extension. The wheel does not turn freely & I have to set it down an manually turn the wheel when I need to change from pushing to pulling the saw (which happens a lot with two fixed wheels). The center wheel is also a cheep hard caster that scratches my floor finish when turning.
