DELTA 50-333 Mobile Base for 37-195 and 37-275X 6-Inch Jointer

I bought the Delta 50-333 mobile base for use with my Delta 37-275X 6" jointer. I thought they would easily attach to each other since they are touted as working with each other. I was wrong. The bolt holes in the mobile base don't line up with the bolt holes in the bottom of the jointer. Who, in their right minds, would do that? I'm pretty shocked at this kind of thing at this price level. The jointer sits inside the mobile base OK and the mobile base itself is good quality. But if I'm going to have to come up with a way to attach these two items myself, I'd rather have bought a universal base at a cheaper price.

This is my second Delta 'custom fit' base. It fits just as it should and rolls decent even on my fairly rough older basement floor. Even with a top heavy tool like a jointer, it is pretty stable while rolling, you'd really have to do something silly to tip it over. If tipping is a fear, see my last paragraph!

It comes to you with the third wheel and foot lever detatched, and that goes together in less time than it takes to find the wrenches to do the job . . . even if your tools are organized. I give it 5 stars since it's the best thing out there for your jointer and goes on simply.

If you have a garage shop and rough transitions out to get to your driveway (bumps over 1" high, grates, etc) and need to roll past those to use your tool in the driveway, I would not recommend this base . . . you may in fact be better off building something.

My other base from Delta is on a Jet 14" closed base band saw . . . it's made for Delta's 14" Band saw, and the Jet base has a smaller footprint. For that reason, I bolted a piece of CDX plywood onto the base through the existing holes, and then mounted my bandsaw to the wood the same way. That allowed me to add a 50 lb. bag of gravel inside the cabinet (sealed neatly in the bag, not dumped in), giving me more mass and stability than the saw had before the base was installed. I may do the same with the jointer, time will tell.

Just the best device to move your equipment.
With out them I could not have the machines because there would not be enough room in my basement shop and I do not wish to heat another space.
They are over priced for what they are but to some of us a necessity. Good quality and function.

The product comes already assembled and easily fits on the base of the Delta Jointer. The lift works well and the base seems like it will be more than adequate to do the job. It rolls well even on my uneven floor. Very pleased with the purchase of the base and it was delivered promptly.

Amazon supplied me the Mobile Base, Delta 50-333, that goes with my 6" Jointer, Delta 37-275. Shipment was quick, and I'm very happy with the Mobile Base purchase.

The Base is generally well designed, beautifully made, and easy to assemble. Moving the 225-lb. Jointer is a breeze using the Base, yet the Jointer is stable for use when the caster wheel is raised allowing the 2 corner feet of the Base to contact the floor (4-point support).

One safety flaw in the Base: it doesn't appear that the mounting hole patterns in the Base & Jointer were designed to match up. There are 8 mounting holes in the bottom of the Base and 4 mounting holes in the bottom of the Jointer, but a bolt will go through both at only one corner.

The top-heavy Jointer should be bolted to the Mobile Base at all 4 corners because otherwise, the Jointer could tip over if you hit a bump moving it around or in the event of a mild earthquake. If the Jointer could be bolted to the base at all 4 corners, it would be much less likely to ever tip over.

This product was easy to assemble and adapted nicely to the piece of equipment it was ordered for.

Assembly of the base goes quickly, 4 bolts, a couple of nuts and your done. The base is very well made. When the swivel wheel is in the up position the base is rock solid and doesn't move. Very little effort is needed to lock the wheel in the down position. It is very mobile, and makes moving your machinery very effortless. This is one of the nicest mobile bases on the market. It will fit a jet 6" jointer, you just might have to cut off one of the bolt down tabs on the jointer first. Which isn't to big of a deal since the mobile base is pretty solid to begin with, and you probably weren't using those bolt down tabs anyways. Overall this is an exceptional product, and I have no problem recommending this product to anybody.

It moves the Delta 37-275X around like it weighs nothing. I highly recommend it.

I would absolutely recommend any mobile base for any tool, if you have a small shop (in your garage etc). I have one on my table saw and it is great. I can push the saw out into the middle of my garage when cutting large pieces and put it in the corner when I am done. They just make your small shop seem bigger because of the versatility.

I never had a real mobile base for any of my equipment. This is great. Step on the lever and one end lifts up and it is ready to move.

I have a very old Delta Unisaw on some oversized casters. They have no locking mechanism. It is hard to move so it does stay put when using but I am going to get a real mobile base for it as well.
