As an old sailor myself I enjoy reading the old classic sea stories. Some of the old standbys are included in this collection as well as many more relatively unknown sea stories. It is literally a library in itself. I've spent hour after hour reading one book after another and have found only a few that I found no interest in or just didn't like. I've never regretted its purchase

Downloaded this for my husband who is in an assisted living facility. This was of great comfort to him when all the activities were over and he was free to read.

This is one long book, some of the stories are not to my likening, and others were reread several times. As a whole I loved it,
though all of the stories are fiction, there is enough historical accuracy to give the stories gravity. Looking at the portrayed past gives a fundamental understanding of the present, and how we came to be. The writing style of some of the authors is awesome, the flow and style of the language. Bye and large a fun read.

I haven't finished all the stories but I haven't stopped reading any that I have started and enjoyed them all - some more than others but it is just the reading that I enjoy and had hoped for when I ordered the book.

A bunch of OK adventures and several classics. Difficult to know where you are in any story because the % completion on my Kindle applies to the entire book of 50 stories.
