This review is from: 50 - 1 Gallon (10"x14") Mylar Bags & 50 - 300cc Oxygen Absorbers for Dried Dehydrated and Long Term Food Storage
I purchased these when I saw they had gone down in price - less than $25.00 - for 50 of each. I couldn't pass it up. Am so glad that I didn't!OakTea was who I received mine from and I have to say, super fast shipping and everything was in order, and the shipping price of 1 cent, couldn't be beat! I love this sized bag, it is perfect for making up smaller portions. I can easily fit 12 1/2 cups of hard white wheat inside, oxygen absorbers and have room to seal edge with iron. I don't have a vacuum saver, so I use the side of an aluminum box level with my iron (turn OFF steam) set on med-high. It gives the perfect sized seal. (Just an F.Y.I. - 12 1/2 cups of wheat equals a little over 5.5 lbs - which means, you can just grab a bag and refill your #10 can that you use on daily basis, which is what I do.) I was able to fit 13 cups of rolled oats, with plenty of room for the sealing. No problems. I even did up a couple bags into smaller bags for my flax seed by making a seal down the horizontal middle of bag, sealing the open edge, cutting smack in middle of horizontal seal that I made (my box level is 1" wide), snipping off ends of vertical side, then filling as I would a full gallon bag, just smaller portions. Works fantastic! :o) I have to say, I'm very pleased, the bags work like they are supposed to and the oxygen absorbers **have done their job as well. (**See update below) Can't beat that. I added some pictures to main image to show how they work in tandem.) :o) Edited: August 23, 2010: (Update - you 'may' need to use more than 1 of the oxygen absorbers that comes in this set for the bags. The instructions that come on the absorbers state: Use 1 per 10"x14" Mylar Bag. I had to use anywhere from 3 to 5 per gallon and 2 to 3 for my smaller 1/2 bags that I made.)

Good Quality Product for My Emergency Supplies,
This review is from: 50 - 1 Gallon (10"x14") Mylar Bags & 50 - 300cc Oxygen Absorbers for Dried Dehydrated and Long Term Food Storage
As soon as I received this thick Mylar bags, I sealed them up using an iron after vacuum sealing them with my Food Saver and tossing in a few of the Oxygen absorbers. There are many YouTube videos to show you exactly how to do this if you aren't sure.

Spend the extra money and get the thicker bags,

Mylar bags work great for food storage, but spend the extra money and get the thicker bags! We got a bunch of the thinner bags because I was trying to save money. It actually ended up costing me more. When I went to transfer the bags into buckets for storage I accidentally knocked two together and the bags split. You know what that means...had to repackage with new O2 and a new bag. I have not had this problem with the thicker bags.

I sealed food for long term storage (wheatberries / oats / peas / beans / sugar / etc) Bags sealed up very nice. Sturdy bags. Its been about 3 weeks and the O2 has been absorbed and the bags are nice and dimpled around the food...easy to seal with the 6" clamshell crimper.

Received bags & absorbers promptly. I use the sealing feature from my vacuum sealer and it works fine on these bags. I triple seal them just to be on the safe side.

I think the "1 Gallon" size may be a bit overstated or optamistic, but I love these bags and will continue to use them. I have an impulse sealer that works perfectly with them and the O2 Eaters seem to be working great as well. I get about 10 cups of food (rice, beans, whatever) per bag before they start to become hard to manage with the sealer- you may have better luck than me, but 10 cups is more than enough for my purposes, and like I said these bags work great.

I just ordered these bags from this company and stored 50 lbs of rice. I was able to put 8 cups of rice per bag and 6 bags per Home Depot bucket. I wanted the rice in smaller quanities rather than 5 gal bags. These are great bags and worth the money. keep up the good work and great prices Advice & Beans!!!!!!

Great Product,
This review is from: 50 - 1 Gallon (10"x14") Mylar Bags & 50 - 300cc Oxygen Absorbers for Dried Dehydrated and Long Term Food Storage
I recently purchased these to help keep food longer around the kitchen. They were very easy to use, just make sure you leave a few inches at the top to really get a good seal. I would highly recommend this product and will be buying more when I run out.

These were great mylar bags. I appreciated that I could purchase a "pack" of 50 -- rather than hundreds at a time. The bags worked great and were exactly what I was hoping for. Recommended.

I received my order promptly and everything was just as described. The bags sealed up perfectly with a hot iron and the oxygen absorbers worked just as described. The finished product appears as if I had vacuum packed the bags. Excellent product all the way!
