5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed
Shipping turnaround was very fast. Packaging was sufficient to protect from all but severe trauma. Product is as stated. A good, basic 50g weight. I use it to calibrate small digital scales. Free shipping for this item seals the deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Accurate
Okay for calibrating. Did you know that one uncirculated US Nickle weighs precisely 5 grams? When you do the math, 6 Nickles are about a 'z'. When I bought this, the shipping cost more than the weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was a bit concerned, September 30, 2011

I've read reviews about calibration weights sold on here being scratched or rusty but I received a a weight with no visible defects and all appearances of being new and unused.

I immediately put this dead center on my 1000g x 0.1g scale and it weighed 50.0g. Next I put it on my 100g x 0.01g scale and it weighed 50.00g.

I'm happy

Great for me since my scale is off by a few tenths of a gram. I just test it with this before each use to know how off the reading is.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect size for digital kitchen scales. Precise, and well made., January 18, 2012

This inexpensive, yet precise, 50 gram (50g) calibration weight is the perfect size for your kitchen scale. This single weight should help assure you that you're getting accurate results for any unit of measure that your scale can display. I periodically check my Polder SLIMMER DIGITAL KITCHEN SCALE (CSC-311), and get excellent accuracy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yep. 50 grams on the nose., December 28, 2011

I bought two scales and reviewed them, but only after I tossed this bad boy on both.

They both read: 50 grams.

So, either this shiny, milk jug looking weight weighs precisely 50 grams, or my two separate brand new scales are each off by precisely the same amount.

It comes in a small cardboard box, wrapped in thin foam and placed inside a tiny ziplock baggie, and that's where I keep it.

For about three times this price, so still not bad, there is an American Weigh complete weight set availableAmerican Weigh Calibration Weight Kit, Class M2 and it's super close to accurate for the regular customer...so unless you need ultrafine (e.g. jeweler, etc.) calibration (because it's only M2 accuracy), I think the entire set might be a good option, too, or instead of this single weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of 50-gram Chrome Scale Calibration Weight, November 12, 2011

I accidentally purchased this weight with the AWS-100 scale thinking that this was the right calibration weight to use with the scale. The proper weight, of course, is the 100-gm which I subsequently purchased. I kept the 50-gm weight just as an added check to make sure the scale is working properly.... and so it is - it measures exactly at 50-gm. What more can I say.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Finish, October 22, 2011

I was a little surprised to find this item shipping separately from the scale that I had bought at the same time but they both arrived the very same day, which was my hope. The weight was packaged nicely, with a very thin foam wrap, then into a proper sized box and a zip lock bag of appropriate size. It has a very "Nice Finish" in chrome without any pitting or imperfections. I'm very pleased with the calibration weight and would suggest one to any customer looking for quality products.

Lets face it! If you're looking for a 50 g scale there is only 1 thing that matters! Does it weigh 50 grams? Well, according to my most sensitive scale it did. So... for the price, are you really gonna complain???

bought this item to synchronize my atomic mass accelerator and boy am I happy! Had this weight been even 10^~23 off, you would not be alive to read this review. When working with such precise equipment, it is very important that everything measures out properly, otherwise the black hole you just created may very well exceed your calculated mass and swallow anything within a plank length! Imagine how may atoms could be lost!
