An adventurous compendium of creative activities,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50 Great Make-It, Take-It Projects (Paperback)
Written and illustrated by children's art enthusiast LaBritta Gilbert, 50 Great Make-it Take-it Projects is an exciting and adventurous compendium of creative activities designed for kids ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade. Proffered activities range from making paper butterflies and snowflakes to three-dimensional gumdrop and toothpick sculptures and simple posters. An excellent book for rainy-day afternoons, 50 Great Make-it Take-it Projects is a first-rate source book for budding young artists and inquisitive minds.

Disappointment reigns,
By Trice Huber (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50 Great Make-It, Take-It Projects (Paperback)
This book was very disappointing and definitely not one to select as a ready reference for rainy day activities. There are no patterns for any of the projects and the instructions are of little value. The butterflies look the same as the wings. If you have a slightly varied age group, the projects are too abstract. There are many, many other art / craft books that are much better.
