Tom Kolb has a friendly personality and is pleasant to get instruction from BUT uses advance terms and doesn't explaing them, fingering views aren't that great. Need to watch closely to figure it out. It would really be nice IF they added a small section going through the different F/X Pedals (settings) to show HOW to get that classic rock sound BUT NO SUCH LUCK - Overall not bad, not sure if I would buy it again...
As always, THANKS for reading my reviews and be well. The WebbMan

For less than the price of one guitar lesson you get video instruction for 50 licks.
Tom does a good job demonstrating how to play each lick and explaining what scale and key it comes from. He plays the lick at normal speed, breaks it down in phrases, plays the complete lick slow and then finishes at full speed again with a rhythm section. The licks are mostly classic rock with a few tasty rockabilly gems thrown in. I would say that this is DVD is for the intermediate level of guitar player and is not for new players, but perhaps an "advanced beginner" could navigate a select few and learn more over time. The DVD also comes with Tabs. Between watching and listening I have no problem learning the licks and haven't had to refer to the tabs, but it is nice to have it just for clarification purposes. The only criticism I have is that the guitar recording is a bit quiet compared to the instructors voice. But for 10 bones I can't and won't complain. An Excellent Value! |
