4.0 out of 5 stars The Only Way for Latinoamerica October 22, 2009
Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I purchase this card and I sent it from amazon to Costa Rica, because I want the Map Pack 1, 2 and 3($9.99 each) from the Call of Duty WAW.

I tried to buy dollars to my wallet in the PlayStation Store (in my ps3 slim) with my credit card, that have the billing address in LA, California, but it didn't work any way.

So, I purchase it and now I can play the 3 map packs. There is true that we need to spend more money($5-6 to shipping, $3 taxes, $7 to bring to CR: $65 total) to get this card, but is the only way to get some add-on, games, themes or something else in the outside of US like Latinoamerica.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy Here October 17, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I'd much rather use a PSN card than enter my credit card number on the network, but the price here is ridiculous. If you just go to another website, such as gamestop, you can get a $50 card digitally for $50.

3.0 out of 5 stars The overhead is crazy! May 18, 2009
Verified Purchase
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Sony makes purchasing games on their Playstation Network incredibly hard. I entered my credit card a dozen different ways, entered things exactly as they appear on my billing statement, and even looked through their FAQ online, but still couldn't add anything to my PSN wallet.

So my Plan B was to purchase a PSN Card. Holy cow, the overhead is ridiculous. Let's look at the numbers:
1. $50 charge for money that you can use in PSN. This is a given.
2. There is also shipping and handling. This added a few more dollars.
3. I was also charged taxes on the card.

So, after all was said and done, I got my card delivered to me for a little less than $60. But that isn't the whole story. I purchase a few games online. Each game I buy online, I get taxed again for THAT purchase too. Outrageous.

I thought this was my only option for getting money into my account, but now I see the overhead isn't worth it. I'll definitely try getting some other credit card account going, or something, before trying this again.

Maybe you are in a similar pickle as me, and if you are: I feel your pain. I do.

1.0 out of 5 stars Card is great, price is lousy. September 7, 2011
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Why pay more money than the card is worth? Cheaper to purchase locally, or via PlayStation directly. Your local 7-11, Wal-mart or grocery store will likely have them for dollar-for dollar value.

5.0 out of 5 stars PLAYSTATION Network Card January 26, 2010
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
NOTE: There are a lot of frauds in the PSN world, using code generators to generate PSN codes, while that might be great if you get away with it, if Sony catches you using one of these codes, they will BLOCK your PS3 from accessing the Playstation Network! Please be weary, these cards are only available in $10, $20 and [...][...]. No other denominations! On some other sites are offering $100 and $150 but require you to give your PSN ID and password to them to 'deposit' the credit or they set up a new account and sell it to you with the credit. These most likely are fraudulent and by using such, you are risking your online experience with your PS3 not to mention you won't be able to use the credit you purchased.

As for the card I bought, it came in a sealed package, I scratched the back, entered the code and it worked perfectly. I have already used the credit to purchase some games.

I'm from another country (Trinidad and Tobago) and I don't know what taxes these other people are talking about.

I wasn't able to add my credit card to PSN's site but with the card I was able to buy the games at the listed price. I wasn't charged any other taxes on checkout. And you do have to confirm your purchase at checkout, so if you are being taxed for a game and you think you shouldn't, change it... not sure if where you're from all games will be taxed, but it's worth a try.

You'll also want to try looking for a good deal when buying the card. I bought my [...] card for $43.99 plus $3.99 Shipping & Handling for a total of $47.98 which is less than even the [...] on the card. So spending $60+ is just bad business.

So lets see, that's $47.98 for a [...] card and no taxes. That's a great deal! Not to mention my PS3 still has access to PSN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good but not that good July 3, 2010
By Daour
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
the only thing that holds me back from buying it is the shipping cost, i live in kuwait and this will cost me over 20$ to get it to kuwait.
and since sony wont accept my card then i almost buy from PN once every 2 months.

if it was more easy from sony side i would have got more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Think twice August 28, 2014
Think twice if you’re planning on giving them as a gift or not using right away. I had saved 6 x $50 ($300) for my future ps4, over the period of 2 years, which were given to me as b-day and xmas gifts. Last night I’ve scratched them off and turned out that none of them worked! I’ve called Sony and they have told me that they have already been redeemed, some months and some over a year ago by different users.
- How can they be redeemed months ago when they were unscratched until last night?
They told me they can’t do nothing and to go to a retailer with my $300 problem. Since they were gifts from friends and family, I do not know who the retailer was.

Bottom line, there is a way for someone to steal/use your PSN codes even if your card is not scratched off. SONY does not care about fraud and security of these cards.

If you’re going to get one, make sure to use it right away. It’s still better than giving SONY your credit card.
