awesome
I'm an art teacher and I love this series of books for making warm ups for my art kids. It's generally a good short description of the artwork or artist with some interesting facts and good pictures. This isn't the book for someone looking for something really in depth stuff but if you just want a brief refresher they are great.

Extremely limited & biased selection
This is a case where I wish I had looked at the book in an actual bookstore prior to purchase. Only then would I have realized the authors focused solely on European & American artists. Are the authors claiming that there isn't a single painting that has been created in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or South America EVER that anyone should know about it? That is...

This is a case where I wish I had looked at the book in an actual bookstore prior to purchase. Only then would I have realized the authors focused solely on European & American artists. Are the authors claiming that there isn't a single painting that has been created in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or South America EVER that anyone should know about it? That is tragic and a huge disservice to everyone who purchases this book. I am infuriated that I have wasted my money on it.
