Wonderful, realistic 21st century love story,
By Kelie Cruise (Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Hardcover)
This book was sent to me by a very talented author, Rick Mizuno. The book first caught my attention because of how everyone could relate to the story's description. Young lovers growing apart and facing the temptations of the world. Whether or not you gave in, everyone in a relationship has been where these characters have been.
Suzy is a beautiful young woman who is a stay at home mom with her beautiful little two year old, Nina. Her husband Michael is a hard working blue collar man. He drives a Semi truck that him and Suzy pretty much put their last pennies into buying. Soon Suzy gets sick of her routine lifestyle and decides to go to work, much to Michael's dismay. You see, he was brought up in the way that the man should take care of the finances and the woman stay home with the children. Suzy could not take having no money from his modest living. The events that lie ahead after Suzy going back to work are realistic, touching, and shocking. Will they be able to stay together due to their opposing views? How will Nina handle the changes? Will they fall into temptation with others? Will their love be able to weather the storm? All of these questions answered within this riveting love story. I could not put it down, you won't either till the very touching end.

The entertaining and engagingly written novel of Suzy and Michael Cowan and the terrible destruction of their marriage,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Hardcover)
Fifty/Fifty Split by Rick Mizuno is the entertaining and engagingly written novel of Suzy and Michael Cowan and the terrible destruction of their marriage. As Suzy's coming arrival at her dream job shortly involves an involvement with of another man, Fifty/Fifty Split swiftly carries readers through the emotional struggle and pursuits of both Michael and Suzy as their relationship deteriorates and their lives lead them in separate directions, yet they retain just enough of an emotional bond to one-another to possibly survive as a couple. A welcome addition to community library contemporary fiction collections, Fifty/Fifty Split is very highly recommended as an remarkably intimate and highly gripping tale of deceit, marriage, and enduring love.

A Lesson In Forgiving,
By
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Hardcover)
This book was passionate in the writing and brought the characters, Michael & Suzy to life for me. I really got into the story about the couple's relationship issues. It takes courage to recognize one's mistakes and to ask for forgiveness. Rick showed the readers that forgiveness is not impossible to receive and to give. Great Story by Rick Mizuno. Cannot wait for his next book.

Enjoyable,
By JJ Kennedy (NY, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Hardcover)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At first, I wasn't quite sure where it was going and was pleased that I couldn't guess. Full of surprises, descriptive language that really kept me involved and turning the pages; I looked forward to my commute to indulge in this book. I found an excellent passage for husbands trying to understand wives...and excellent wisdom throughout about the importance of good communication in a marriage. Of course it is fiction but if you enjoy a good story about a relationship and it's ups and downs you will enjoy this book. I gave it four out of five stars only because it is Mr. Mizuno's first book and I don't want him to think there is nothing to top...I look forward to his next effort!

Very Moving Drama,
By
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Hardcover)
Written with the ingredient of classic elegance, 50/50 Split is a very moving drama exploring the dynamics of a relationship on several levels. Rick Mizuno brings each scene of the story to animation through a skillfully enhanced artistry. As the layers of the story unfold, the reader is drawn into the journey with the characters. You feel as if you are right there watching the story or actually a part of it. The book expresses the minute elements of day to day life to the explosive power of love, betrayal, lust and forgiveness. It was an intensely, adventurous experience! It is definitely at the top of my list to give as a gift to several people.

I want to personally thank the author - I've never read a book like this before,
By Avid Reader (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 50/50 Split (Paperback)
I have read romance novels before, but I can honestly say that this one moved me. I was so touched that I actually looked up the author, as it is so unusual for a man to write a romance novel. It turns out that this guy (Mizuno) is a relationship coach and so he wrote this out of his heart to women all over the world. That made me love the book even more. I just don't know why I can't find it in the Borders stores, very frustrating because I keep telling my friends all over to grab their membership cards and pick this book up! Anyway, 50/50 Split is the best I have read in a long time.
