4.0 out of 5 stars A solid book for a solid workout
I found this book full of useful information not only for the beginner but for someone who has been working out for a while. Each chapter is easy to read and understand, the information is useful and straight forward. This book offers good solid information for a good solid workout.

3.0 out of 5 stars General Info, maybe too general...
The author obviously knows the subject matter. He seeks to write a very basic, general manual on beginning bodybuilding. The setup is very easy to follow, with chapters each discussing a different topic and seldom exceeding more than two pages. His best chapters are the ones on Creatine and other supplements, since this is his area of expertise.

However, if you are...

His best chapters are the ones on Creatine and other supplements, since this is his area of expertise.

However, if you are beyond the basics, you may be disappointed by this book. It will not teach you individual exercises or techniques. It will also not give you workout routines. This is simply a book covering the very elementary basics of bodybuilding (such as "do not overtrain" and "eat right").

I thought this book was well written in that it is a book of filled with good information on bodybuilding. It has some very good tips for the beginner as well as the more advanced bodybuilder, written in easy to understand chapters without all that bodybuilding lingo which doesn't mean anything if you want to get a good solid foundation to bodybuilding!

This book has everything a beginner or intermediate gym rat will need to bulk up relatively quickly. The author is a constant contributor to Ironman magazine, and clearly knows his stuff.

The advice is short, practical, straight to the point, and provides medical references you can follow up on. The book gives you a wide spectrum of things to consider, including proper workout habits, type of training patterns to follow, nutrition and supplements, and other general pointers that have helped me get past my sticking points.

In conclusion, I really wish I got this book a few years earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time spent on useless training.
