5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully enchanting!
I was lucky--I got to read the book before it hit the shelves, and I loved it. Jazz is a heroine who is quirky, fun, and just warped enough to love--and her world is filled with fascinating creatures, bunny slippers who'd give the vorpal rabbit a run for his money, and one sexy, hot vampire love interest. I can hardly wait for Linda's next book. If you love paranormal romance with a slightly twisted sense of humor (that only adds to the charm of the characters), then this is the book for you! (I recommend this book especially to fans who also love the works of MaryJanice Davidson, Annette Blair, Candace Havens, Charlaine Harris, and other light-hearted, enchanting paranormal romances).

STORY BRIEF:
Witches, vampires, werewolves, trolls, and other creatures live among humans. Jazz is a witch. She makes a living removing curses and driving a limo. Nick is a vampire who works as a private investigator. Nick and Jazz have had a lustful on and off relationship for about 300 years - mostly off. She frequently gets mad at him. Someone is killing vampires, and Nick wants Jazz to help him solve the problem.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
It took a long time to get going. I was impatient for something to start happening. Nick visited Jazz several times asking for her help. But things kept delaying any action. Jazz had to do this, she had to do that, she kept telling Nick to come back later. This was going on for more than half the book. Finally they started to do something about the killer. Overall it was ok, just not a must read. Don't expect much relationship development between Jazz and Nick. They knew each other in the past and broke up before this story even started. This is more of a lustful coworker relationship than romance. I had a problem with the title. She was not hexing her lover in different ways. She threw fireballs at him once and missed. That was it. Jazz was an interesting character, but Nick and Krebs could have used something more.

The best parts were the fun and interesting side characters. I loved Fluff and Puff - the bunny slippers with sharp teeth and short tempers. Jazz would keep them in line by lifting her foot. They were afraid of heights.

CAUTION SPOILER:
The ending scene with bad guy Clive could have been better. Jazz and Nick are chained and powerless with Clive standing over them doing harm. Yet Jazz and Nick keep telling Clive they're going to kill him. These empty threats weren't doing anything for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun and funky paranormal romance/mystery, April 8, 2008

I enjoy the vampire books of Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson so this book was just the way I like my paranormal books -- offbeat and funny. The characters of Jazz and Nickolai were interesting and likeable but the secondary characters really made the book interesting. Irma, the cranky 1950s era chain-smoking ghost stuck in Jazz's vintage car grew on me over the course of the book as did Jazz's mortal roommate.

The author found a way to make the presence of witches, vampires, bloody-thirsty bunny slippers and various other non-human life forms seem almost normal.

I look forward to reading the next Jazz book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book you can't put down, February 23, 2008

I absolutely love this book. I'm a very picky reader and have often started books, skipped to the end and tossed them. Not with this one. I was hooked from page one. I wanted to take Nikolai home and make him my own personal vampirer. And Norma, the chain-smoking ghost, is hysterical. This book is funny, romantic, suspenseful and well-written. If you want to read a book that will capture your attention and imagination -and then want to read it all over again, this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.

To be honest, I picked up this book because of the live bunny slippers. Who talked to each other, and destroy things. Won't that make you look twice at this book? But Ms. Wisdom made a believer out of me with the love/hate relationship between the witch and the vampire. Jazz, Nick, Irma (the ghost inhabiting Jazz's car) and her fellow witches were entertaining from start to finish. The second book in the series is slated to be released in November. I will be there at the bookstore for my copy, I hope you will be there too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun, exciting read great for anyone, March 28, 2008
This review is from: 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a wonderful read, I had a hard time putting it down. Jazz is a wonderful character w/lots of spunk. Fluff and Puff are two of my favorite characters... I mean killer bunny slippers how can you go wrong!?!? Oh and don't forget about Irma the ghost who haunts Jazz's Car. She is also a great character. I fell in love w/all of them and can't wait for more about Jazz. Thanks Linda Wisdom! This was such an engrossing story that my friend's 13 year old daughter ignored her Nintento DS for 3 days straight to read it... now that's some powerful storytelling!

5.0 out of 5 stars 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover, July 3, 2008
This review is from: 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (Mass Market Paperback)
Jasmine Tremaine and Nikolai Gregorivich have a history, but a witch and a vampire shouldn't mix. Jazz has enough problems staying out of trouble on her own when Nick shows up just in time to drag her into a traumatic situation from their past. They must work together to stop a magical force while fighting the attraction they still share.

Will the two be able to work together with out killing each other? Will their attraction for each other get in the way of stopping a powerful force in the magic world?

50 Ways to Hex Your Lover is fun filled with all the action I crave to read and has more substance than the title suggest. I was expecting a cheesy fun romance and got so much more. Linda Wisdom puts the fun and the dark together so well that this story flows like water in a stream! The supporting cast of characters just added to the brilliance that is 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover.

Jazz loves Nick and you can see it in her struggles to distance herself from him. Nick loves Jazz just as much and it shines through. They have a long history and Ms. Wisdom did a great job letting me peek into Jazz and Nick's live. I'm hoping Ms. Wisdom will write stories for Jazz's "sisters" because they seem like a fun bunch and I would love to revisit Ms. Wisdom's world.

Eagerly devoured this book in about two days, the cast of characters were all delightful. Gotta love those cute little bunny slippers, Fluff and Puff, and wanted to see more of them, Irma, the Ghost, was exciting too, but Jazz Tremaine, our witch, and Nikolai Gregorivich, our Vamp were the stars. Jazz has been been on the oust from the Witche's Council for many years and trying to work her way back into good graces with the council. Nick, her vampire and on&off lover is back and again needs her help. Loved how Linda described this fascinating new world and it looks very promising if she can keep the excitement going. Waiting for the second book to come out this fall and read more about these characters. I highly recommend this book if you want light and hilarious shenanigans abound. Also, has a great ending, read this book, you will be glad that you did.

This book was a nice respite from all the serious books out there. It was refreshingly origional and fun. I definately recommend this book if you like Gerri Bartlet, Dakota Cassidy, Tate Halloway, or Erin McCarthy's "Vegas vamps" series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Read!!!!, April 8, 2008
This review is from: 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (Mass Market Paperback)
I absolutely loved this book. Jazz is my kind of witch, a lady with heart and just the right touch of attitude. And you have got to meet Fluff and Puff! What a hoot! Did I forget to tell you about Nicolai? Deep, dark, and sexy as hell. In short, 50 Ways is a must read.
