Not Satisfying, July 27, 2006
This review is from: 5000 years of UFO's : Are we really alone? (Paperback)
Once again Jim Hickman's book "5000 years of UFO's" is a misleading title. (I thought his book "The Rancher's Nightmare" was also a misleading title.) Most of the UFO incidences reported are from about 1850's to present. There is only one mention of a UFO anywhere close to 5000 years ago. And that is in the "Hoax" chapter, so shouldn't count. This is certainly not a look at UFOs starting some 5000 years ago. One report is from about the year 1250 (exact date I don't remember).
Also, the writing style and book format is hard to read. The reports are very short and not very detailed. It gets very tedious to read "Mr. X saw a Disk shaped UFO on (date) while he was (fill in activity). Mr. Y saw a disk UFO on (date) while (fill in activity)." And on and on.... (There is a little more filled in but that's the feel of it after a while.) It's not filled out.
And not in any chronological order.
And sometime hard to tell if Mr. Hickman is writing or if the text is from someone else's report.
Although lots of UFO incidences are mentioned, its hard to stay interested as one seems pretty much the same as another with no new significant details.
