Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

This advice-laden book compiled by a renowned television sewing guru works equally well as a reference for answers to specific questions or as a guide to dip into at random. The well-organized hints all sent in by viewers of Sewing with Nancy are occasionally supplemented by variations or further elaboration from Nancy herself. There's so much information (most of it relevant to general sewing projects; some specialized, but potentially useful) that inveterate quick-tip collectors may find themselves reading page after chock-full page of valuable hints when they only meant to look up how to make a crisp collar or find a better way to store all those fly-away pattern pieces.

I kept repeating "great idea" while reading through this cleaver and insightful book. There are numerous ideas that will save you money, time and keep your projects organized. It even has ideas for breathing new life into old clothes or using them to decorate. The book is well written and illustrated making it very easy to duplicate the projects at home. It is a great addition to my sewing library.

This book is packed with lots of great ideas. A definate 'staple' for any sewer. I bought it as a gift for a friend who's beginning to sew. When it arrived, I couldn't put it down, so I kept it and bought another one for her.

Nancy's book brings the good ideas and shortcuts of
her fans to all in a really good presentation.
So many things you read and say to yourself, "why
didn't I think of that?". It is really a good book
for newbies as well as the long time seamstress.
There is alway something to learn and people sharing
their knowledge is always a good thing.

Love Nancy Zieman on her TV programs, and was pleased to find this reference book for my home library. She simplifies projects and is a very down to earth sewing mentor. I always appreciate her teaching style.

This is an older book from Nancy Zieman, one of the best sewing educators around in my opinion. The book has sewing type hints that have been sent to her. She adds her own opinion and expertise as well501 Sewing Hints: From the Viewers of Sewing with Nancy. I have learned many new helpful hints and have been reminded of others. The book is divided into different categories so it's easy to look for a particular subject. I would recommend this book to anyone who sews.

It never ceases to amaze how ingenious & creative people can be. Sometimes the best solutions to problems can be the simplest things that are right under our noses, and this book has many examples of just such things. Yes its an older book, but somethings never becomes outdated - like common sense!

This book is a collection of hints, so it is a book to dip into instead of a book to read from cover to cover. The hints go from basic for beginners to the advanced level.
