505 The Virtual Stapler
www.virtualstapler.com

Love staplers? Well, then, this is the page for you.
This page features a gallery of stapler models from different years, including comments on how they work, as if they need any. The "1968 Swingline," the "Drexel Odyssey," and the "Max Hong Kong Booklet Stapler" are just a few of the models.

They also have an FAQ on the mechanics of staplers and questions on how you can find those annoying things when they get lost. Letters from outsiders having stapler problems or other queries are encouraged, as they post these in a letters section (one letter was trying to make these people realize how moronic the idea of a stapler web page is, but they'd have none of it). They have an entire section devoted to the surprisingly many times they've been noticed by the media, along with comments they've received. They're currently working on a section that features staplers that appeared inmovies, and finally, the ultimate in stupidity for this page: Stapler Poetry.

COMMENTS: I've never realized how much attention people can put into such a mundane, inanimate object. Well, I guess now I know that there's much more to staplers than I realized. These people have gone to the point where they love staplers to death. And I thought it was just an office tool.

504 Dishwasher Pete
www.outwestnewspaper.com/pete.html
This is an article about a man named Dishwasher Pete. His goal is groundbreaking, yet simple: wash dishes in every state in the USA. He not only washes dishes, he writes about it in a self-published newsletter. Boy, I'd really love to get a subscription today! This article tells a great deal about Pete and what he's done so far, like washing dishes at a Montana ski resort. Talk about luxury-washing dishes at a ski resort!

COMMENTS: It's a noble goal just to travel to every state in the U.S. But no, he just had to add dishwashing to that goal! I tell you, if that isn't a stupid tack-on to a goal like that, I don't know what is.

503 The Dark Side of the
Scooby Doo Gang
www.ccs00.com/cdc/scooby/darkside
There's the real Scooby Doo gang, and then there's the Nega-Scooby Doo Gang. That's right. The Nega-Scooby Doo Gang is comprised of the real group's evil counterparts. The web page has profiles on "Evil-Minded Velma," "Hot Stuff Freddy," "Dark Daphne," "Devil Doo," and "Disgruntled Shaggy." The funniest profile, in my opinion, is the sixth one: Scrappy Doo! They claim that Scrappy is a double agent whose objectives are to "annoy the real Scooby Doo Gang," "REALLY annoy the real Scooby Doo Gang," and "REALLY REALLY annoy the real Scooby Doo Gang" (sounds about right to me). They even have a picture of "the Misery Machine," the vehicle of the Nega-Scooby Doo Gang. A section for fan art and stories is also included.

COMMENTS: I like this page. The concept is funny, and the part about Scrappy Doo really agreed with me. People who dislike Scooby Doo will especially get a kick out of this site.
