They look great, fit great, and held up through the show like champs.
This was a Valentine's gift for my son that goes to a boot camp since he wants to be in the Military when he grows up.
He questions a section appearing not to be leather, the siding and wonders if it will hold up in snow.

Ive purchased many boots in the past from doc martins, bates and addison, but as of yet these are the most comfortable shoes I have worn and seem extremely solid. Because of the quality product I do feel inclined to at least let others know that this is amazing shoe for the price.
Good thick leather, a solid toe (composite toe?), cushioned soles, steel shank, ect. All the features listed in the description are present and lead to a remarkably nice boot. That being said, the details are somewhat vague, an example being "military specifications" What does this mean? I did quite a bit of searching and never came to a conclusion aside from the standard high of any given boot shoe.
When purchasing, I really wanted another steel toe shoe, for work, concerts and all that jazz. I searched for a Steel toe military boot and this was one of the results. As the work steel toe was not in the description, I did not expect much, but I had hopes. It is indeed not steel toe, but a very hard cap, possibly composite. Once again the vague specifications mare my buyers insight.
There are no bells and whistles, so to speak here. no padding around the top, no fabric between the leather and upper, not full gusset, you get the picture. But I want to be very clear to whoever may read this, these are not features listed or shown, I'am simply saying that it is rather bare bones if you compare it to other MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE boots.
Now, I love these shoes, comfortable, solid, quality material. I wear boots almost everyday, and Im beyond happy I can add these to my collection. They play rough and dont bother with the fancy trimmings other shoes may have. You could spend a hundred or so on Danners, but If you are a penny pincher like me, then buy these rothco's.

I have purchased three pairs of these boots. Two pairs are still in the box in my closet. I bought two extra pairs after buying them because I was afraid I would not find them again.

These boots should come with care and conditioning instruction. That is my one gripe. I can see how someone might buy these boots and give them a negative review because they come very stiff and unforgiving on the feet. With proper conditioning however, they afford the wearer an amazing and affordable option.

If you wear them out of the box, and your feet do not have the callous of an elephant your will shred the hèll out of your feet. However, if you want them to wear like personal armor for your feet for lasting comfort, follow these steps.

1). Get a five gallon bucket or something else that will fit your boots that you can dump hot water in. A five gallon bucket works for me.

2). Purchase a can of saddle soap. These are REAL leather. That's why I bought them. You need saddle soap to condition the leather. It's cheap and you can buy it almost anywhere that sells shoe polish.

3). Put hot water in the bucket, as hot as you can get it from your tub faucet. Dissolve entire can of aforementioned saddle soap in this bucket of hot water. You technically do not NEED to add the saddle soap, but it will condition the leather with lanolins and other things that get you extended longevity from the leathers, it also gives that nice leather smell to the boots.

4). Submerge your boots in the container. I put two heavy rocks in my boots to keep them from floating up. Leave them in the solution for about an hour or so. The leather will become pliable and soft.

5). Get yourself a nice pair of boot socks.

My 19 year old, who is very fashion conscious, loves them. He has a wide size 10 foot and the 10 Regular fit him just fine, so I would say they are true-to-size, but generous in width. They are 10 and 1/2 inches tall - so they are true "combat" height - about mid-calf. They are certainly bad-*ss enough to look punk/goth/alternative and look great with skinny jeans. But they also do NOT have a clunky lug-style sole, so they can also be worn with something a little more dressy. They appear to be a very sturdy and well constructed boot. (Just received them, so we will see how they wear.) The leather is very nice. They are indeed "stiff" which probably just means they are sturdy . . . will need a little breaking-in. Finally, the leg opening snugs up to a nice, narrow width if necessary, so they fit even if you have skinny legs! All in-all I am thrilled with the purchase, especially for the price - comparable boots are well over $100.

These seem to be the exact or very close to the boots that were used in the Navy c. 1980s/1990s. They look the same, polish the same, wear great, comfortable all day. Good boot, good price, recommend consideration by boot-wearers.

These boots arrived before we expected them, and my son loved them. The were a replacement for a much more expensive brand, and he seemed to think they were equivalent. I had to contact the vendor to exchange for a different size, and they responded immediately and were quite helpful. You can't go wrong if you're looking for this kind of boot.
