I ordered two of these. One was inoperable. The one that actually worked did not alarm. It squeaked. It couldn't be heard halfway across a small room. I cut my losses and threw them both away.

I accidently got the pin caught in the car door at my local Home Depot. This thing was going off loud and clear while I was frantically trying to find the pin. In the 2-3 minutes I was searching not one person came to see what the noise was about. Two women in a Home Depot parking lot at 10:00 in the morning in an affluent area. Nobody even looked our way. It really wasn't loud enough

First one arrived with dead batteries, so we replaced them at the store for the cost of $20 ! It still didn't work so we had it replaced. The batteries in the new one didn't work either! Just remember to add $20 to the great deal you think you are getting!

Mine seemed to have arrived with fully charged batteries -- it was so loud it hurt. I was looking for an alarm for my elderly parents to summon each other in case of a fall. I won't send them this one -- the noise would be too stressful. I'll try one with a lower dB rating.

Also, both models I've looked at so far would be too difficult for an older person to turn off quickly. I can just picture my mother trying to get that pin back in the little hole while that thing is screeching at her.

The red light is almost worthless and the alarm is not loud enough to be heard over road noise.This trinket belongs in a gumball machine that you pay $.25 for. I can't believe this is a GE product.

This pierces the ears. Just pull the pin or push the button and a loud chirping sounds. Replacement batteries can be found on Amazon at a good price. They are supposed to last about a year, according to the instructions. Seems like a good product.

I bought this as a christmas gift for my mom because she really enjoys biking. She wanted to feel safe while riding on bike trails alone.
The alarm is very loud and somewhat obnoxious which is good if someone is attempting to mug you. The key chain component is also really handy.
My mom was happy with the gift.
