It's a deck of cards rather than an actual book, with 52 activities that are encouraging and appealing; they'll break the dull routine that may be your life. One card suggests an adventure-of-the-month club, where you and friends take turns planning surprise field trips for the rest. Another proposes a family memory day wherein you and surrounding family members gather old photos, letters, and memorabilia, then gather round and tell stories. These cards spur us on to make time for the people we care about. The laundry can wait.

This isn't a book as I thought, but a deck of 52 cards. Each card has some suggestion to START your own kind of family tradition such as (1) "Cold Cuddle Days" - When the weather is bad and it's a blah day, gather up all the blankets and pilows in the house, make a big nest on a couch or bed and invite family and friends to cuddle in it for the day. (2)"Life Portrait" - On your birthday or on January 1st every year have someone take a picture of you or (3)"Your Royal Highness" - Everyone deserves to treated royalty on their birthday. The birthday person gets to be King/Queen for a day and waited on by the rest of th family. --And they continue as such. Get the idea?

I found this deck of cards offering no expressive extra-creative wisdom beyond what a "assumed normal happy family" would do anyway on their own. But if some dysfunctional family needs a deck of cards like this to help make some fun in their lives, I don't want to discourge them.

You decide. I found the title misleading because I thought it was an informative book source on Special traditions and instead it's just a deck (of cards) of ideas.
