About the Author

Susie Vanderlip is an author, speaker, actor, dancer and educator that is nationally renown for her one-woman theatrical school assembly and keynote program, LEGACY OF HOPE. One million teens and adults in 47 states and Canada have experienced this dramatic, thought-provoking and life-changing program. After programs, 25,000 teens have spoken one-on-one with Susie about their feelings, frustrations and troubling life choices. From these conversations, Susie has infused "52 Ways" with amazing insights into teen feelings and vulnerabilities. The Foreward in "52 Ways" shares Susie's personal journey from high-achiever with a loving husband and "perfect life" to his death from alcohol and drug addictions at 35, her own emotional trauma and recovery from the tragedy, and her outreach over the last 14 years reaching out to struggling teens and their parents using her dance and drama talents.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book can save your relationship with your child..., May 25, 2006

I was given a copy of this book several months ago, and just finally got to reading it. I'm just about finished with it, and it has given me several useful tools, and taught me how to speak "teen" and allowed me to remember what it's like to be a teenager. I'd recommend this book to any parent, regardless of how good their relationship is with their teen. Susie Vanderlip encourages the reader to look deeply into their relationship with their teen, and to build a stronger, lasting bond.

This review is from: 52 Ways to Protect Your Teen (Paperback)
This incredible book was filled with WONDERFUL tips and ideas on improving communication between our 2 TEENAGE(14 and 16 years old) BOYS and US! The book has many real life comments from "teenagers" that helped us ,as parents, understand our boys perspective on all the issues of their lives. It really has improved "Dad's" ability to TALK with his sons with more patience, understanding and less criticism!! The boys love the idea that dinner together every night is a MUST!! A place for all of us to connect and know that love and support is there for them in this household!! THIS BOOK IS A MUST FOR ALL PARENTS!!
