Of course, the title is what the book is all about: fifty-two ways to sell more books! Nevertheless, this interesting book's title does not do service to the brimming wealth of knowledge its author has packed into its many pages, believe me! If you are an author or a wanabee writer, then this handbook should be your holy grail, literally! Strategy titles like SECRETS OF WRITING A BOOK THAT SELLS, CRAFT AN EXCEPTIONAL ELEVATOR PITCH, MAXIMIZING MEDIA LEADS, SALES ADVICE FOR NEW PUBLISHERS, and even 20 WAYS TO DRIVE MORE TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEBSITES AND BLOGS, are the major engines of book sales and marketing industries across the world today. And there is no reason why any upcoming author, either self-published or not, but especially self-published, should not avail himself or herself of this wonderful opportunity to delve into a major work from a leading name in the industry today.
Social/Historical Context:
A concise marketing handbook for authors, this book delves into the many aspects of book marketing and publicity from the viewpoints of many of the leading figures in the industry today.
Writing Style:
The book is a compilation, so to speak. A sought of contributory piece coupled by the author. Here, many notable figures wrote pieces concerning their field and the author then organized it. This approach is a novel one, especially when the topic is as broad as book marketing and publicity.

If you're a writer or publisher, go get this...it makes your life a lot easier...!

Someone I respect finds the author's columns useful, so I figured the book would be a good bet. I was wrong. It's disorganized (I thought my kindle had opened it in the middle, since the author is going on about principles clearly discussed at some point previously) seems to assume you've already read earlier books in a series, and doesn't have anything new to say about marketing your novel. Or at least, I have yet to find things in its pages that haven't been better explained elsewhere in other sources.

Writing a book is like giving birth to a child. It takes a long time, enormous effort, pain, sensitivity and commitment but it's really only a first step. Next comes the hard part and you're in it for the long haul. Raising a child takes 20 years but fortunately marketing and selling a book won't take nearly as long, especially if you read Penny Sansevieri's book, 52 Ways to Sell More Books. I think that this lady is a dynamo and that the hints, tips and direction she gives would help you sell ice to Eskimos. Sansevieri is well versed in traditional ways to market a book but she also teaches you how to promote it in so many innovative ways, from face to face, one on one, blogging, social media, using traditional media and making your book stand out from its competition (which she also tells you how to identify). Want to sell your book? Of course you do - you didn't write it to sit on your own bookshelf and give away to dinner guests. Follow Sansevieri's advice and you will sell your books!

This is a very insightful and helpful book if you are self-published and are looking for a way to promote your books. Chocked full of information, the author presents so many different ways to promote a book that you do not need to do them all. Choose the ones that work for you and then ease into the others.

I found this book very insightful and helpful. As an author myself, I will be incorporating some of the tips in this book for my own books. If you are an independent author, you will find this book helpful Give it a try. It could pay off in the end.

If you have self-published a book, or want to, Penny Sansevieri seems like the person who knows how to get people to actually buy it. (Funny, but books don't just sell themselves. You have to make it happen.) If there's any author who can't use 52 good tips about how to get people to buy their book, I don't know who it would be. Practical tips, especially for this Internet/social networking age.
