52 Weekends in Seattle Card Deck

As a new Seattle resident (moved here in Apr 2009), I had really hoped this deck would direct me to some fun, DIFFERENT things to do in/around Seattle... Alas, we have already hit almost all of the entire deck of 52 spots. This would be a fun gift item for someone who travels to Seattle regularly, but has only a few days at a time per visit, or for someone who has lived here their whole lives (but lived under a rock).

For someone who actually lives in & knows Seattle well however? This deck contains the run of the mill, standard tourist spots. That's not necessarily a bad thing, if you've really never gone to some of those spots. Even for me, I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting places like Pike's Place Market, the Space Needle, Seattle Center, the Sculpture Garden, etc., I just wanted something a little more off the beaten path to explore as well.

I've placed in my guest room (along w/ some other Seattle themed books and magazines), so that family & friends visiting from outside of WA can peruse at their leisure.

We recently moved to the area and were completely in the dark about Seattle. I picked up this box of cards hoping it would provide a quick, handy reference for getting to know our new home. All the research had been done for me - info on the typical must-see tourist spots, parks to hang out in, botanical gardens and zoos, museums, and fairs and festivals to enjoy. Whenever we are adventurous and looking for something to do, we just flip through the cards and pick whatever looks interesting. We have yet to be disappointed. The "completed" cards go on the refrigerator as a reminder of all the fun we've had. Meanwhile, we're learning a bit about the different neighborhoods of the city and surrounding areas. The cards take us there, but we choose to explore outside of the chosen activity while we're there. The only thing I would point out as a negative is that the directions assume the reader is using a map or some other tool to actually navigate to the location, since they are very general. But since most people unfamiliar with an area are relying on a map to get around anyway, I don't really see this as a big problem.
