2.0 out of 5 stars practice log, January 13, 2009

This is pretty much a glorified practice log. It's nice if you want something more organized than, say, a spiral notebook, but basically you write down the time you practiced, a goal, & if you met it. If you're looking for something intellectual to intensify and focus your practice sessions, this is not it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful..., January 18, 2009
By
J Pianoman (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 52 Weeks Of Practice: A Four Topic A Week Organizing System For The Entire Year (Paperback)
I have read the reviews and I have to agree with both. This is an excellent tool for students and teachers. I teach weekly lessons every day and one of the main problems with students is keeping good track of what they've done during the week, question they might have while they're practicing which they then forget at class time, and a good way of finding out by themselves how much they have practice during the week.

I also have to agree this is not a book about what to practice every week, or how to practice it and that you could use a note book instead, but after teaching for 25 years I have to admit that a nice looking book containing every week of practice for an entire year with a clean organizing structure makes a big difference in the perception that the students get from their own practice time. When I give this book to my students they feel their practice time is worth much more and ergo they practice more.

I think it is a smart idea, works for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource for organizing your practice routine, December 12, 2008
This review is from: 52 Weeks Of Practice: A Four Topic A Week Organizing System For The Entire Year (Paperback)
This is one of those things that become essential after you've used it.
If you're a musician you will be able to organize your practice routine for an entire year and the best part is you will keep a record of what you've studied, your progress and your weak areas.

If you're a teacher, like me, you will probably want your students to get this workbook since it makes it so easy to keep track of there practice.

Very useful!!!
