The Closet light did the job. I installed it in a utility closet- i had to drill two holes. The battery compartment is very cheap- and once i put in the batteries, I was afraid to open it for it might crack. It gave an ample amount of light, not as much as I hoped, but enough to get around.
I would recommend this product for small closets.

Pros: cheap price, compact, easy to install, doesn't put out any heat
Cons: doesn't put out much light, very difficult to change batteries

This item is a pain in the arse. Once I installed the light on the ceiling of my pantry the metal connections between the base and the light no longer touched and the light would not turn on. When I did jimmy rig so that the metal connections touched, it only illuminated with half power - dim lighting now. I do not recommend this project for any upside down mounting.

PROS:-Uses 4 "D" Batteries which seem to last a long time, and battery replacement is not a pain as some explained. You just push a button and lift case to replace batteries -The acrylic cover is clear plastic and looks nice -The overall build and quality is very good for the price. It doesn't have a cheap feel. CONS: -DIM LIGHT (something between a decent minimal closet light and a night light) NOTE: I actually have a different fixture that is a 9" T-5 except it plugs into an A/C outlet. The same bulb was about 1.5-2 times brighter running on electricity versus battery which is why this fixture is so dim. 6 volts of battery might be too little for a 9" T-5 (usually a 6" T-5 is lit with 6 volts). -It's probably to dim too serve any purpose except a night light or to provide a flashlight amount of light for camping. -It is much more bulky than it needs to be -IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REPLACE BULB (the designers just assumed you want to use the bulb they give or that it wouldn't die anytime soon). IT IS VERY HARD TO REPLACE THE BULB. You have to open the battery compartment, take screw driver or some other object, push in the two clear clips, then pop the acrylic top off. It took me 5 minutes to figure that out and about 5 minutes to get acrylic off to access the bulb. -It doesn't come with instructions! (Had to figure out the above on my own) OVERALL: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! MAJOR FLAWS!

Works great. I purchased 2 for closets. Not very bright, but fine for my purpose. And I intend to purchase a couple more for the other closets.
