5.0 out of 5 stars Good product as advertised
This lens hood fit perfectly on my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Screws on firm and easy and is removed just as easy. There is an alignment mark on the hood to line up with center marks lenses.

Be careful if the lens you are getting this for rotates at the end. The Nikon 18-55mm kit lens rotates at the front thus, the hood will rotate with it and be a...

This lens hood fit perfectly on my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Screws on firm and easy and is removed just as easy. There is an alignment mark on the hood to line up with center marks lenses.

Be careful if the lens you are getting this for rotates at the end. The Nikon 18-55mm kit lens rotates at the front thus, the hood will rotate with it and be a little less effective (a rubber/round hood would be better in this case)

I took some ocean shots at different angles to keep the subject where I wanted and all came out crystal clear! No flare!

I bought this hood to fit a Nikon 50mm f/1.8.

Pros:
No vignetting.
Durable construction; not flimsy.

Cons:
Screwing the hood on is a little more time consuming than other hoods.
I cannot attach the hood in reverse (for easier packing of the lens).
The lens cap attaches to the hood, not the lens. So, when I take the hood off the lens, the lens cap comes with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lens Hood, September 3, 2011

I received this lens hood to replace the stock Nikon hood on my Nikkor 35mm f1.8 lens. When i got it, I was surprised to find that it felt better built than the stock hood. It screws on the front of the lens like a filter would, and has a ring clamp to hold the hood on. On the front of the hood, there are another set of threads so that you can relocate any filter(s) you might have on the front of your lens. This hood works and fits on any 52mm lens with filter threads. Great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing rocks!, August 23, 2011

After reading several bad reviews about many 3rd party petal lens hoods, I decided to try my luck with this one since it was cheap and I had almost nothing to lose. I purchased this for my Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 because I hate how the round lens hoods that are provided look. This thing works great though! It just screws into the front of the lens, and you're done! It fits very snug, and you can even put your lens cap on without having to remove the hood, despite some other reviews. There is no vignetting at 35mm with this hood. If you need a hood for your 35mm lens, I cannot recommend this enough :)

3.0 out of 5 stars For the price.. Good.. Otherwise.., May 20, 2011

The lens hood is a good value for its price. I have it on my Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens at the moment.

Pros - very sturdy material, good "barrier" between lens and external factors, I like that the hood can counter rotate (manually, of course) against the focus.

Cons - when at 18 to about 25mm, there is a very bad vignetting; interferes with the on camera flash when shooting as far away as 8 feet.

It does the job for the price.

It is plastic. The front 52mm thread is impractical to use. Much more difficult to screw it on the lens than metallic one.
I will be using it rarely. And since it is so cheap, it is meaningless to return it either. So, worthless.

This lens hood is exactly what my 35mm Nikon F1.8 Needs, It fits like a charm and is well constructed and "Looks" a hellva lot better than the lens hood supplied by Nikon, Delivery was as promised and arrived in as expected perfect condition.

I should have read the reviews before purchasing but as many others have said, this is a screw on hood. Not what I was expecting. It was cheap and I'll use it but save your money and buy a better one.
