I put a long weaved cord on my knife and it will hopefully perform if I ever need it.

It is surprisingly hard to find true mil spec para-cord. This is mil spec! You find a lot of knock offs claiming to be mil spec but only hold about 250#. Do not be fooled. This is the stuff to buy.

I'd been looking around forever for the true Mil-Spec (MIL-C-5040H & PIA-C-5040) paracord and saw the reviews on this product so figured I'd give it a go. As the other reviewers have posted, this is the real stuff: 8 tri-braided strands with a colored strand.

Purchase with confidence!

This parachute chord is high grade, just as 5Col described it. This is not the knock-off commercial grade found elsewhere. The outer sheath is of a very tight weave. I've read of folks doing a "bury" splice in para-cord, but I don't think that is possible with this cord. That's actually very good news if you are looking for cord to use as a high strength military grade line.

This is the real 550 paracord our troops use. Not that commercial grade stuff that you see a lot of. Very strong line.
One feature I like but is not that important is that the outer liner is full with the inner threads and doesnt move around making knots very clean and effective.

This is the real deal paracord. I had to actually test it this past weekend at a garage sale we held at my girlfriend's mothers's house. We needed a way to hang and display all of their clothing they intended to sell, so I offered to tie up this paracord between two beams and use it as a clothes line per se. This cord more than handled the weight. I even tied satellite cable to supplement; which snapped soon after all the clothes were hung, but this paracord never even flinched. I highly recommend this over any other commercial brand of paracord. It has endless uses and I also recommend teaching yourself a couple of handy knots to really make use of this cord!

My dad and I were camping in the BWCA and realized the guide forgot to give us bear rope when we got there. Facing the possibility of having to travel for another day back to the pick up point, we decided to try and string up the food pack with this paracord (the pack was around 80 lbs maybe). My dad couldn't believe it held on such a tiny cord. It worked perfectly and lasted us throughout the whole trip (a week long). It saved the trip! I'll definitely have some of this in stock whenever I go on trips.

I did a ton of searching and research online for true military spec paracord and definitely found it here with this company! This cord has 8 inner strands, each 3 ply twist. Most company's out there only sell commercial grade paracord, which is still good, but if you want the real stuff and the confidence that it will hold the weight that's stated, then this is the cord you have to get!

Will be a customer for life now!
