After 3 1/2 weeks without electricity during Hurricane Fran, and later a winter outage of three days, I kept wishing I had natural gas so I could use a generator. Well, I moved where there is gas service, and got one of these. I haven't had an outage since having it professionally installed, but it works great in the test mode. It makes a motor noise, but I don't hear it inside the house, and it is a really deluxe looking unit that appears to me to be of a very high build quality. It will run my entire house if and when there is a need.Update: Had one electrical outage when a huge tree fell in front of my house. The scene would have been totally confusing and scarey if the generator hadn't kicked right in. My house was the only one on the street with electricity.

I ordered this generator on a Friday and it was delivered the folowing Wednesday. Some sites show 3 to 5 weeks for delivery. It came well packaged and arrived in good shape. The manuals were complete and easy to understand. If you plan on doing your own installation, I suggest you read them from cover to cover before you begin. You will also need at least 4 strong men or a hoist to set it in place. We now have it hooked up and tested. We haven't had a chance to use it yet (I hope we don't) but if we do I will add to this review.
