K&N 57 Series Fuel Injection Performance Air Intake Systems (FIPK)

K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake Systems are truly state-of-the-art. The system starts with the largest conical shaped high-flow air filter K&N could fit into the engine compartment while using factory holes and mounting points. This extra filter size provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard K&N O/E replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. The oversized air filter also captures and holds more dirt increasing the service life before a cleaning is required (up to 100,000 miles). The filter is attached to a rotationally molded tube made from interlaced High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). This process allows K&N to precisely shape the tube to reduce turbulence and accelerate airflow into the engine. This is why some of K&N's tubes have unique shapes that are specifically engineered for each application. Finally the tube is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials such as silicon and reinforced nylon and ensures long life.

How High-Flow Technology Works

The K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake System increases horsepower by eliminating airflow obstruction in your engine. Restriction of air flow between an air filter and an engine robs even the most powerful engine of horsepower. K&N air intake kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the standard air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered conduit that makes up the 57 Series FIPK Air Intake System drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into power.

A Complete Air Delivery System that is Easy to Install

K&N Intake Systems are designed to completely replace the factory air intake assembly with an aerodynamically engineered tube and an oversized conical air filter. Most systems come with a heat shield that isolates the air filter element from the warm air generated by the engine. Cooler air results in better performance and power. A typical installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet set in 90 minutes or less. K&N specifically engineers its air intake systems to use factory holes and mounting points, making installation simple. The vast majority of our air intake systems do not require any cutting or drilling.

This thing made my truck perform a lot better.

The bolt that was sent wouldn't fit and the original one that held the shroud on my vehicle it wouldn't thread back in with the bracket.

Well worth the money, and not that difficult to install, even for a shade-tree mechanic like myself. recommended!

After installing this kit on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 (3.7L v6), I noticed immediate gains in acceleration and gas mileage (from 18 to 22 mpg hwy), topped off my a nice throaty growl!!! Well worth the money, and not that difficult to install, even for a shade-tree mechanic like myself. recommended!

I am writing this review months after receiving my cold air intake. Wanted to see if the claims of improved gas mileage and horsepower were true. I must say my truck is performing a lot better than I could've ever expected. Looked at other retailers and Amazon had the best price. One thing I must mention is that a hole must be drilled into the intake for one of your sensors. But besides that everything else is as they say bolt on. Took me a couple of hours to install due to the fact that I didnt have all the proper tools with me at the time; so make sure to plan ahead before beginning your installation. I wouldnt recommend installing the intake yourself if you dont work on your own vehicle. As for the gas mileage and power there was a great improvement overall. I just odered my exhaust to compliment my intake. If your going to install an cold air intake you almost have to install a aftermarket exhaust. Your going to be pushing more air in, a performance exhaust will help your engine push out exhaust at a higher rate= more power and gas mileage improvement. I purchased this intake for my 2005 Dodge Ram 3.7 Liter V6.

If you can install it the product works great! I installed it in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 3.7L six. Would have bought the unit and installed it much sooner, but the instructions I download from the K&N web site were not clear. For one thing my installation was closer to the instructions for a 2008 model. Which, by the way, was much easier. I took my time and it took about 2 1/2 hours to install. One reason was that I ran in to my home computer to look at the pictures on K&N's web site, because they were cleared than the ones on the instruction sheet that can with the unit. One point that is a little scary is that I had parts left over. You never want that! But it is because this unit can be installed on different models with different configurations.

When installed I was very pleased with the unit. Highly recommend to anyone that can read english and follow simple directions.

performance increase, better sound, more fuel-efficient! This was a relatively easy install except needing a 7/8 drill bit (seriously that is huge and not a commonly owned size) I used a smaller drill bit and moved it around in a circular motion until the MAF sensor fit. Other than this it was an exceptional upgrade to my 2007 Dodge ram 1500 with the 3.7L V6 (I know...V6 truck...but its what I have and it works).
