Exceeding my expectations!

There's a little bit of light leakage in the lower left and right corners, but it's not noticeable except in a completely dark (or nearly so) room.

And, because the response time of this monitor is so low, it is also great for gaming.

This monitor arrived a few days ago and, thus far, has proven to be an excellent choice. Although it has a lower resolution than some top-of-the-line IPS monitors, its color-accuracy resolution and response time has proven ideal for use with budget graphics cards when gaming.

___Pros___
+++ Low input lag (helps the "feel" of the monitor when gaming).
+++ Fast pixel response time for an IPS display (good for gaming & movies)
++ Much better color reproduction/depth than most TN displays (common to all IPS displays - very noticeable improvement).
++ No no noticeable overdrive artifacting (can cause white ghosting in high contrast moving images)
++ Inexpensive compared to most IPS displays.
+ Large size - 27" makes a large difference in screen size compared to the 23" standard.
+ No noticeable backlight bleed-through on black (can be problematic with some IPS displays).
+ Lower resolution makes new games playable using a budget GPU.
+ Very complete on-screen controls make it easy to adjust the image's color accuracy.
+ Wide viewing angle (a trait it shares in common with other IPS displays).

___Cons___
- - - Low resolution for a monitor of this size (many 27" displays are 2560x1440, not 1920x1080).
- - No DVI or DisplayPort input (analog VGI or HDMI only).
- - Highly limited stand adjustments (will not rotate to portrait mode, very limited tilt range of motion).
- - Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) used for backlight adjustments (some users may detect visible flicker at low brightness).
- Monitor claims to be "borderless" but border is present (though flush with the screen behind the same plastic topcoat).
- Aspect ratio (16:9).

I've been researching upgrading my monitor for a while, and although I wanted a 27 inch monitor, I was very concerned about the ability of my video card to drive the higher resolutions because I didn't want to have to start upgrading my card more often because of the higher native resolution of 24 inch and larger monitors. I also wanted the increased picture quality of an IPS monitor over a TN monitor, but was worried about ghosting and lag with an IPS monitor.

This monitor solves both problems. While some will lament the 1920 x 1080 resolution, for me its perfect because it offers the 27 inches I wanted but without the resource issues I mention above. And, because the response time of this monitor is so low, it is also great for gaming. Best of both worlds. I connected it via HDMI and was initially stumped as to why I had a large border all around my video display. Then I learned I needed to access the CCC and set overscan to zero - problem solved, and my video now fills the whole screen up.

The picture quality is amazing, as is the responsiveness. PC Magazine recently published an article listing the top 10 gaming monitors. This monitor made the list. Other monitors on the list average $200 for a 24 inch screen. The MSRP for this monitor is $299. To have a 27 inch IPS gaming monitor at that price (even lower on sale if you check around) makes this monitor an exceptional deal. I am very happy with it.

Some quick info about the monitor:
1920x1080 resolution
0.311mm pixel pitch
LED backlit
Panel is 6-bit color with AFRC

The monitor is very good for gaming. The resolution isn't as system intensive as most of the 27" monitors that come closer to 2560x1440.
The input lag is extremely low, measuring less than 1 frame (5-6ms).

My only real fault with the monitor were the on board controls. If you want to do any color calibrations in any kind of reasonable timeframe, you really are
forced to use the included software. This allows you to access the OSD via the software to make quick adjustments. For me, the language defaulted to what appears
to be Chinese, so you have to piddle around in the menu for a few minutes to find the language option.

Like most people who own this monitor, I purchased mine from BestBuy. The sole reason for this being that BestBuy seems to be the only company that carries it.

I just purchased this display from bestbuy a few days ago. I am an apple user and wanted more screen real-estate for my 15inch macbook pro. It works very nicely. No issues at all. The resolution obviously doesnt compare to the apple cinema or thunderbolt displays. But for the price around 300 dollars and 3 year guarantee, I have absolutely nothing to complain about!!!

Everything about how this monitor performs is really, really good. It has good color reproduction, thanks to the IPS panel, and fast response time for gaming along with plenty of brightness. The blacks could be darker, but overall, I can't complain much. There's a little bit of light leakage in the lower left and right corners, but it's not noticeable except in a completely dark (or nearly so) room.

Now, the one thing that just makes me so angry about this monitor... the power "button", or rather the touch sensitive spot where the power button is located, only works about 10% of the time!! If the monitor is on, touching the power button, whether lightly or firmly, with fingertip or thumb... whatever... nothing happens. The monitor will NOT turn off! Now, the same thing will also happen when it's off... no matter how much I touch the power button, either on or around it, it will NOT turn ON!!! The ONLY way I can fix this problem, is to unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor, wait about 10 seconds, then plug it back in. After that, the power button works like it should. It may work again 30 minutes later, or 3 hours later, but before long, it goes back to not working again and touching the power button does nothing and I have to repeat the power cord trick! SO SICK OF THIS PROBLEM!!!

Maybe I got 1 lemon out of a thousand, I dunno, but it's a very STUPID problem to have! If it wasn't for that, I would have given this 5 stars.
