4.0 out of 5 stars Well stocked
I've had my pet first aid kit for a while now and just used it for the first time. I had to remove a tick from my dog's ear and the kit had everything I needed to get the job done. The tweezers that it came with are sturdy enough to remove the tick and the spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide came in handy. Although it comes with small packets of antibiotic ointment....I...

This kit was put together by Mayday, who are well known for selling emergency survival bucket kits for humans. I'm not a big fan of these pre-packaged kits because the quality of the supplies is typically quite poor. As for this 58 pc kit, it contains the following:

This review is from: 58-piece First Aid Kit for Pet Emergencies, Disaster Preparedness for Dogs and Cats (Kitchen)
This kit was put together by Mayday, who are well known for selling emergency survival bucket kits for humans. I'm not a big fan of these pre-packaged kits because the quality of the supplies is typically quite poor. As for this 58 pc kit, it contains the following:

1 Instant Chemical Cold Pack
3 Antibiotic Ointments
3 Insect Sting Relief Pads
1 Hydrogen Peroxide Spray 2 oz.
1 Tape Roll .5" x 5 yards
1 Gauze Roll 2" x 4.1 yds.
1 Gauze Roll 3" x 4.1 yds
6 Sterile Gauze Dressings 2" x 2" (2 in one pack)
6 Sterile Gauze Dressings 4" x 4" (2 in one pack)
1 Heavy Trauma Pad 5" x 9"
2 Examination Gloves
9 Alcohol Prep Pads
9 Antiseptic Towelettes
3 Povidone Iodine
5 Cotton Tip Applicators
1 Sterile Eyewash 1 oz.
1 Pet First Aid Guide
1 Pair of Metal Scissors
1 Pair of Metal Tweezers 3"
2 Splinter Removers

Overall, it would do for a minor injury. But it needs several additions, including cohesive bandages (clings to legs), some basic bandaids, lubricating jelly, burn-aid gel, an emergency blanket to help prevent shock, an oral syringe, safety pins, digital thermometer, Ticked Off tick removers, tongue depressors, and antibiotic packets.

Please be kind enough to indicate if reviews are helpful.

The tweezers that it came with are sturdy enough to remove the tick and the spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide came in handy. Although it comes with small packets of antibiotic ointment....I would recomend adding your own tube. The packets are hard to keep if you don't use all the ointment. Great buy for pet owners!!
