BEWARE BEWARE DOESN'T WORK WITH 5881ENL,
This review is from: 5828V - Ademco Wireless Talking Keypad (Electronics)
Ademco, now Honeywell, is famous for its reliable, effective Vista security system. Perhaps that has led to a certain arrogance. In DIY installing several Vista systems, I found them intellectually stimulating, flexible, and only a little frustrating due to jargon-packed installation manuals apparently written for pros using them for reference after much experience. But once programmed, quite reliable. Yes the instructions frequently are confusing, not like the LYNX-ENR which is very user-friendly, but with the LYNX all of your alarm system is in one unit, generally. Nix it with a hammer. For me it has not been as reliable as the Vista, which has a locking panel, and with a wireless 2nd keypad away from it, can be safely hidden from crooks. It must have a wired primary keypad to program it. Now one might think that the 5828v bidirectional wireless would be just the thing for your entry. But it won't work not with the 5881enl! See if you can find anything in the company's manuals or blurbs that says that. Hunt and you can find recommendations to use it withe the 6150RF or 5883 units. It didn't make sense so I emailed Tech Support. Rather rude and refused several times to answer my two questions. Honeywell seems to offer "Lifetime Tech Support!" Sure, but only if you are a professional security company. Why then does H sell to retailers such as Amazon, some of whose partners do not state the incompatibility? From whom are we to get tech support? When companies do this, angering their customers, other companies will show they care. Sooo... in the meantime if you buy from Honeywell cross your fingers nothing goes wrong, because H doesn't care enough about you to give you support if you need it.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Works but seems a bit cheap. I am using it as a secondary keypad with the lynx plus system. This keypad does not announcer names or zones.
