The Good:
I was expecting some no name collection of tidbits. I was surprised to find my package included a set of Vivitar Series 1 filters similar to Amazon's set Vivitar - Filter kit - fluorescent / UV / circular polarizer - 58 mm: So basically for for an extra $7, you get a generic hood, generic pinch style lens cover, a cleaning cloth and a "cap keeper". Not a bad beginner's kit.

The Bad:
I am not a fan of the hood though, as I have a name brand canon hood which allows me to adjust the hood based on light conditions without unscrewing the hood (it locks in places on the outer lens body as opposed to the machined threads at the lens), whereas this generic hood, once it's screwed on, that's it. In order to adjust the hood "vanes", you are basically unscrewing the hood. If you have one of the included filters on the lens, the hood doesn't have many threads in contact with the filter. So it has the potential to fall off if you are adjusting the hood. If you don't have a filter on, the generic hood is more appropriate since it'll have more "bite" into the threads and can be adjusted without fear of the hood falling off.

Overall:
I think it's a decent kit for beginners looking for some lens protection but would probably not recommend this for pros or even aspiring pros. In hindsight, I would have spent the dollars and got a better hood. Minus the value of the filters, the remaining lens cap, cloth and cap keeper, weren't of much value/use to my specific needs. It may be for you. Finally, the note included with the purchase gives the consumer a 100% satisfaction guarantee from gojasales (vendor I bought from). That's the main reason I give this product a 5 out of 5. A company that stands behind the products they sell with a 100% satisfaction guarantee which includes taking the product back at their expense. You can't beat that. If your order this product, I think you'll be very happy with the prompt service, decent product and excellent customer care.

All useful stuff at a low cost. The tulip hood does not fit the Canon 18-55mm kit at 18mm, you may have to zoom to about 24 in order to eliminate the tulip hood from the shot. Fits my Canon 55-250mm zoom lens just fine, doesn't show up in the view at all.

Great experience with Goja and the items actually arrived much sooner than promised and in great condition. The filters work very well for my lenses and help in difficult lighting areas. I'm vary glad to make this purchase.

Great kit, the price is very good and the filters are good quality. Got it for my Rebel T2i. It comes with a nice pouch that's easy to handle.
Plus digital goja is a great seller, fast shipping and great customer service.

Doesn't work or fit very well unless you screw on one of the filters between the lens hood and the camera. (canon t2i).

Item was received very very quickly, two days before the estimated delivery date! All the items in the kit came as described and even included a wallet-sized pouch to keep all the filters safe and snug.

I bought this for one reason: the price. It took to days to process this order, and then 5 days to receive it. In contrast, I ordered my new camera the same day, and received it in two days. Not impressed with their shipping.I consider myself a pretty smart guy, but when I received the package, there were no instructions on how to use it. Their amazon ad claims "Finally a 58mm hood that you can keep on your camera at all times. Simply screw the base of the hood onto your 58mm lens. Then snap the body of the hood on the lens facing out when you want to use the hood or facing in when you want to store the hood." Uh, no. What is the ring that come with the hood for? To me, it's totally useless (maybe if this came with instructions I wouldn't be wondering). This hood needs to be screwed onto the 58mm lens you are using. Then you can screw whatever filter you wish to use onto the inside of the hood. Good luck with that. It can be difficult to get the filter in the right position to screw it in. So in conclusion, shopping could be a quicker. And yes it does fit on a 58mm lens, but is not adjustable, and it can be difficult to put filters inside the hood. I haven't taken any picture with the hood attached. There my be an update to this review in my future.
