5D Mark III Recall ???? FYI ,

Canon has requested all retailers send Canon 5D mark III cameras back. Looks like a possible recall could happen. You might want to keep an eye on web for more information about this issue

I heard that shipments have been stopped until Canon figures out how to solve the issue or whatever problem the camera has. I don't mind waiting to get one without a potential problem or flaw. Hopefully, it can be solved with a firmware update. If it is a hardware or design issue, it could take longer.

There is an advisory on the CanonUsa web site:

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/eos_slr_camera_systems?pageKeyCode=prdAdvDetail&docId=0901e02480538fc7

"In extremely dark environments, if the LCD panel illuminates, the displayed exposure value may change as a result of the AE sensor's detection of light from the LCD panel."

No fix yet, they are working on it.

If the unit gets recalled, which based on the advisory it does not appear the issue can be fixed through firmware, you'll thank yourself for waiting.
