One of the most entertaining books I have read in a long while. Its magic laid for me in the depth of the characters, and their emotional journeys through interactions and relationships. Essentially this is a book about the coming of age of somewhat surprisingly several - adults. These interesting characters (pun intended) stayed with me even after finishing the book. I look forward to the sequel to know what else these well-depicted humans face and how they walk through it. The characters could be anyone you or I know in our seemingly mundane, uninteresting lives. This made the book hard to put down because I wanted to know what would happen next. The intricacies of the webs that we weave in our lives were so well addressed that it makes one wonder what the author has known in his life.

The author creates a humorous story which keeps the reader wanting more! Great summer reading, highly recommended. Waiting for more from this author!

Charley has captured the essence of living in Chicago in the 1960's on the south side. He has brillantly mixed romance, a little suspense, some mystery, etc. into a fun book to read. The story kept me guessing throughout the book. I truly enjoyed the book. It is a great summer read by the pool or at the beach.

What a great book. Yes OK its at heart a romantic comedy, but there's nothing cheesy about it. It is also quite funny! It caught my eye because I have a 5 speed schwinn as a kid, but that's not what made me keep reading.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very entertaining. A great summer read. Adult parents who finally find love......really cute

This was the first book I bought for my Kindle. I expected it to be funny, knowing that the author is a comedian, and I wasn't disappointed on that front. What I did not expect was the depth of character development, well thought out plot, and deep examination of what makes relationships work, and the attitude of society towards them. Looking forward to the sequel!

While the overall plot may be not be totally unpredictable, it's actually the more subtle plot twists accompanied by the witty humor that make the story work. All in all, an enjoyable read with some food for thought.

Life doesn't wait around for us to make the right decisions. Life happens. It did for Donald Roth. Maybe the universe decided it was time to make things right for Donald. We all know that the universe has a sense of humor! In this case the universe is the author and he turns the hero Donald's life upside down and inside out to get him the second chance he deserves. I am a sucker for second chances in love. Everyone can relate because we all want to get it right and if we don't we want that second chance too! Read it and let yourself smile. It's a great book.

Although I usually read mysteries, this one drew my attention. A lot of modern authors that I've run into use a lot of crude and cheap tricks to make their stories interesting, but this author knows how to present a simple story that people can really relate to. It's always interesting to see what people have to say about ordinary life, even in fictional format.
