1.0 out of 5 stars I really hate this mouse!, November 22, 2002

Wireless mice are deffinately the way to go, as long as you buy a quality one that doesn't kill bateries in just a day or two. This mouse has this really pointless sleep mode that is supposed to help save battery life, but it doesnt work properly, and the receiver has problems with receiving input signals from the mouse. It comes with rechargeable batteries and a charger, but if you decide that you wnat to use regular batteries, it is nearly impossible to change them out, because the battery compartment is designed to keep the batteries in, and does not allow the user to remove the batteries without really messing it up. Basically, this sucker drains the juice from batteries faster than you can say "wireless" and is a waste of your money. (I got a much more functional mouse AND keyboard set that work much better, and it only cost me 35$!!)

3.0 out of 5 stars Very low range, February 6, 2002

This review is from: 5btn Micro Optical Wireless Rf Mouse (Personal Computers)
First I should say this mouse is good in terms of 'optical': very smooth, looks great, feels great. It comes with a charger, so that you don't have to change expensive AAA batteries often. When rechargeable batteries go low, the mouse scroll wheel will turn red. Nice feature. The clicking sound on this mouse is loud, but no big deal.

However, in terms of 'wireless', this mouse leaves a lot to be desired. I tried it on 4 PCs and one Mac, the mouse becomes useless if it is 1-2 feet away from the receiver! The mouse has to point directly to the base, and they'd better be at the same height with nothing in between, to get the 2 feet range...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product for the money..., January 16, 2002

I expected this mouse to very sluggish, considering it was wireless. But to my surprise, it really wasn't. It moves through your screen very smoothly as if you were using a standard mouse. Another great addition to this mouse is that it comes with rechargable batteries and a recharger. I think it's the first wireless mouse that has this feature. This is the first wireless ANYTHING I've bought for my computer and I was very impressed. I might just look into buying a wireless keyboard to go with my mouse. Pick it up, you won't regret it.
