5.0 out of 5 stars Best band ever!
Five were always considered the "bad boys of pop" and it definently fits. Their music isn't like anyone elses. They will definently rock you in one song then make you cry with the next. This is a must for any Five fan. The best band that ever existed. Now, with Five's reformation, Scott, Abz (yes that's how he wants it spelled now!),Ritchie, and J (Sean's doing solo work)...

5.0 out of 5 stars Five go out on top!, January 9, 2002
This review is from: Five - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Five broke up on Sept 27, 2001 and their UK record comapny BMG released this final album of all their top ten hits (11 of them!) plus 7 other tracks. Listening to this album makes you wonder why all other pop groups sound dull in comparison. If you are a Five fan, it's pure heaven. If you're not yet, get this album and find out what we in the USA have been missing for the past 5 years. Five are the only group in the world who can easily mix rap, pop, dance and rock and actually sound like they know what they're doing. The best pop album you could ever buy!

After a amazing debut album and two monster follow-up albums and world wide acclaim and awards and success and millions of fans worldwide..the group five had a career that most groups can only dream of than in 2001 fans found out on live television that they were spilting up...when i learned that 5ive had spilt after 4 1/2 years i was heartbroken..They were the best of the bands out there...their sound was unique...but this collection of there greatest hits is a great tribute to the band...good luck to the guys on all their solo projects. ABS Breen's debut solo album is about to hit in late 2003....Abstract Theory.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Hits Great!!!!, December 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: 5ive - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This CD has to get sold in USA stores!!! The differences from the first three albums:

* Tracks 1, 4, 6, 9, 10 and 11 are radio edits.

* Tracks 8, 13 and 14 are UK versions.

The rest of the album is alright, but check out "Set Me Free", it is a real American boyband version. There is another song which should have been released on the radio and put inside the Greatest Hits album:
"Lay All Your Lovin' On Me", the Def-Leppard version.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT ALBUM, March 19, 2003

ok i dont know where that guy got his information on how ... of a CD this is cuz it is AMAZING!! I have loved Five since they came onto the scene. You do not see any other groups out there that are as musically talented as Five. The only reason they did not make it far in the US is because of the stiff competition with NSYNC and Backstreet Boys who were marketed more because they were from Florida. This greatest hits album combines the best songs Five ever had. They will be missed but their legacy lives on!

Wow this cd is awesome. If you like Bsb Nsync and so forth check this one out they have a sound that is right up there with them. Not only do they have a good teen and dance pop sound but they also add some hip hop and rock into the mix. I'll never understand why they didn't become bigger here in the states but heres a good example of what we missed out on. Fans of teen pop music don't sleep on this one it should be in every pop fans collection.

So what made me drop [$$$] on my second Five CD instead of a first Boyzone CD purchase? It's simple..."Keep On Movin'" I had bought their debut CD several months back and thought that it was quite possibly the best pop album of the last 10 years. When I heard "Keep On Movin'" recently I was once again hooked in by the power of Five. Question was whether I should get the 'Invincible' CD or their Greatest Hits. I chose this to get more variety of Five hits including stuff from their Kingsize CD as well as different versions of songs from their debut CD. This CD has its share of flaws. One major flaw is labeling. For example, 'When I Remember When' is presented without any designation. So naturally one expects it to be an album version. But it isn't. They should have designated it as remix or original remix or something and not mislead the buyer. By the way, it doesn't hold a candle against the album version. The second problem with this CD is that it does not provide the best possible versions of some songs. That is doing injustice to the fans of this huge group. Some songs are just plain weak. Here is the my brief breakdown:

We Will Rock You- A UK #1 single with contribution from the surviving members of Queen. Didn't much care for the original...same here.

Keep On Movin'- Another UK#1. Single handedly makes this a worthy purchase. Quite possibly my second all time favorite Five song.

If Ya Gettin' Down- Catchy beat. I'll probably play it for one month and get sick of it.

Everybody Get Up- From their debut CD. Wasn't one of my favorites then so I'll probably never again play this cut.

Let's Dance- Also their UK #1. As in Cher's 'Believe', the guys sing through voice altering microphone. I'm not a fan of this technology. Has a cool beat though. I'll probably dance to it for a few months and then I'll probably stuff it.

Rock The Party- Give the guys some credit for taking a Barry Gibb tune and injecting their brand of rap to it. An example of how their reach falls short of their ambition.

Got The Feelin'- Yawn.

When The Lights Go Out- Actually this version sounds better than the album version.

Closer To Me- I figure 10 years from now, I will take this CD out of my collection to listen to Keep on Movin' and this. It really is a great tune.

Until The Time Is Through- My favorite Five song sounds flat and weak here. I thought that a Radio Edit was supposed to add that final sheen to an already great album track. What a washout. I'm disappointed here...to the point where I won't even bother to review the rest of the selections.

Why bother to go through them when I know I won't be listening to them tomorrow. The best versions of these songs appear on their original album.

Inspector Gadget, Set Me Free, a different version of Keep on Movin', and their Greatest Hits Megamix are mediocre stuff which round out this CD.

This makes for a below average Greatest Hits package. Greatest Hits compilations hardly ever hit the bulls-eye so why should I have thought it any differently for Five? So all of you Five fans out there, I'm sorry to disappoint but I gotta call a spade a spade. Unless someone makes a strong case for 'Invincible', I won't be buying any more Five CDs. I'm buying Boyzone's 'By Request' next.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5ive go out with a brilliant album, July 20, 2002
This review is from: Five - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This album makes me realise 5ive are gone. Greatest Hits is one memory inducing album. Rundown:

1. We Will Rock You
My least favourite 5ive single. But I still love it, cuz Ritchie gets to sing! Catchy and dancy. 4.5/5

2. Keep On Movin'
5ive's biggest single ever. It's so refreshing and happy. "Keep on movin' on anyway...." Great stuff. 5/5

3. If Ya Gettin' Down
The catchiest 5ive single. I love the chorus, and the cool dance they do to it. 5/5

4. Everybody Get Up
This song is so simple, yet so catchy and makes me dance! The video for this song is amazing. 5/5

5. Let's Dance
Dancy song, as the title suggests. I love the chorus and the middle 8. I love the video! 5/5

6. Rock The Party
It's a great song on Kingsize, but on here it's boring. I have no idea why though.... 3/5

7. Got The Feelin'
A happy, smiley song with a very cute video. Great to sing and dance to. 5/5

8. When The Lights Go Out
A huge song in the US. I love the beginning, and the chorus. "Baby when da lights go out..." 4.5/5

9. Closer To Me
Aw! My favourite song on Kingsize, makes it to Greatest Hits. This song has more life then the original, and I enjoy it more! 5/5

10. Until The Time Is Through
Aw! I love this song. It's so sweet. Ritchie sounds so lovely (and looks lovely) in this song! Beautiful song. 5/5

11. Don't Wanna Let You Go
I love the video to this song (maybe it's cuz Ritchie looks soooo cute?), and the song is catchy and cool. 4.9/5

12. Slam Dunk (Da Funk)
Ahh, this takes me back. 5ive's first ever single. Not a outstanding song, but not bad either. Just average. 3.9/5

13. It's The Things You Do
Yay! My favourite song from their debut album! This song is so breathtaking, I can't describe it. 5/5

14. When I Remember When
What a gorgeous song! It has such beautiful heartfelt moving lyrics! Ritchie sounds gorgeous! 5/5

15. Inspector Gadget
Hehehe! This song is so funny! It's from the Inspector Gadget soundtrack and sooo catchy and funny! 5/5

16. Set Me Free
This has recently became one of my favourite 5ive songs ever. I love the catchy chorus, and the cool verses. Ritchie sounds great on this. My favourite song on here. 55555/5

17. Keep On Movin'(World Cup 2002 Mix)
This was out way before the World Cup...?? Anyway, this song annoys me, so I always skip it. 2.5/5

18. Five Greatest Hits Megamix (Jewels and Stone Remix)
This has all of 5ive's singles mixed together into one 10 minute long song. It's awesome! 5/5

Overall, a great album to go out of the pop music world on. Check out Abs' solo effort "What You Got" and Ritchie's solo stuff should be out soon (I hope!). This album is brilliant and I will love 5ive forever more.
