i was looking for a laserpointer for my undergraduate class that takes place in a mid-size lecture hall (~20x30 meters). standard red (625nm) laser-pointers with 1mW output (class 2) turned out to be far too weak for this purpose; note that these are the typical laser-diodes used in the popular kensington/logitech power-point/keynote presenters. however, the 525nm (green) wavelength and the 5mW output of this laserpointer make it right for my needs. it is also very compact and has a solid feel with no loose parts. runs on a single AAA battery (no experience with batterylife sofar). recommended.

This laser pointer is green and bright, but it cannot be used for regular presentations by Power Point Document or on a white board. The problem is the pointed dot is too big, a half inch diameter blob.
If the point size is adjustable, that would be great. Pros: Case was nice, and 1 AAA battery is used (comes with the product). All I can think of its use is pointing to distract someone far away.

Good light output for its size but not high quality,

This laser pointer is about 1/2 the size of most, which is a plus if you want to carry it around in your pocket but I find it's too small to comfortably hold for long periods of time. The threading on the cap that holds the battery in place was defective so I ended up using some teflon tape to secure it, which has been working. We keep our house at about 55F during the winter and I was surprised to find that this pointer doesn't work at this temperature, whereas my other laser pointer does. After holding it in my hand to warm it up for a minute it works fine and puts out a respectable amount of light for its size.
