A book of sixty short devotions to be used for individual meditations, or as opening devotions for church meetings. Stories from the Bible, childhood memories in Scotland, personal experiences, and pastoral situations in the United States are used to challenge church groups and inspire the readers.
I was born in Scotland and grew up in the city of Glasgow. As a teenager, I became addicted to alcohol and attempted to commit suicide. At the age of 20, I gave my heart to Jesus and within a couple of years, I was attending Trinity College at the University of Glasgow in order to become a Church of scotland minister.
I was ordained in 1986 and served the combined parishes of Maybole and Dunure in South Ayrshire. My wife Evelyn and I spent nine years there and raised our two daughters Lynsey and Lauren.
In 1995, I accepted a call to become the pastor of an American congregation in Knoxville, Tennessee. I have led the congregation of Erin Presbyterian for over 16 years.
I have written over 1500 devotions for the congregation and Christians all over the world and have published many of them online. I am also a prolific artist and have sold over 300 prints of my unique drawings.
Kindle has given me an opportunity to publish my devotions in e-book form so that other pastors, church leaders, and Christians can use the stories, reflections, and messages for their own minhistries and spiritual journeys.
