5.0 out of 5 stars A needed 60 cc Syringe with smaller tip, September 12, 2009
This review is from: 60 cc Disposable Syringe without Needle (Misc.)
This item can not be found at local pharmacies or medical suppliers in my area.
For those individuals with G or J tubes with the smaller sized tubes this is a great
item.
The size and tip fit properly and the administration of crushed medication can
be inserted via the syringe to the feeding tube.
The only draw back is that over time the plunger is harder to push but manageable.
More awareness and advertisement of the availability of this syringe would be a blessing
to those who need it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for force feeding Anorexic Felines, December 1, 2007

These work fine for about 5 days of feedings. Then the seals start to stick to the wall and prevent an even, continuous flow.

NOTE: The following procedures MUST be performed under the guidance of your Veterinarian or Vet Tech to prevent choking the animal.
I had a Manx that started to get Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (Fatty Liver Syndrome) when his sister interfered with his eating. Hepatic lipidosis classically occurs after a period of anorexia (loss of appetite) of at least 2 weeks duration. The term "primary" or "idiopathic" hepatic lipidosis is used when an additional disease state cannot be identified. This is the case in approximately 50 per cent of cats diagnosed with the disorder.
Behavioral or stress-related causes of anorexia are common; they include the owners being away on vacation, family members leaving or new people or pets being introduced into the household, boarding, and dietary changes. Unfortunately, once this disease develops, cats feel ill and may not begin to eat again even if the, initial cause of their loss of appetite has been eliminated. Without aggressive medical intervention, this vicious circle can, lead to death in over 90 per cent of the cats.

The cornerstone of therapy, the only way to reverse the process of fat accumulation in the liver, is aggressive feeding to supply your cat with his or her full caloric requirements. This syringe and 4 to 5 forced feedings reversed this Manx's condition.

Needless to say, I adopted out his sister, but kept this boy for fear another adoption attempt would put him into a depression and anorexic cycle again.

I use this syringe daily for my son. In a baby bottle, I mix his Miralax and water and then suck it right up with this syringe. It fits right into his button without needing an extension. I wish we could get these through home health, but I just order more from here when I need more. They do get harder to push in the plunger the older they are, but still a great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good syringe for film chems, November 7, 2011

I use this for measuring photography chemicals in small quantities, and for that purpose it's pretty much perfect.

The numbers and lines are actually melted into the plastic, so they won't wash off over time. That has been a big problem on other syringes I've used in the past.

My daughter has a gtube. We used to order these syringes. However, the last two times we ordered they sent a cheap alternative to the syringe pictured. I sent back two different cases trying to explain that the cheap versions do not work. The seller got very uppity and finally refused to help us. I am now scrambling and struggling to find the correct one.

You must make sure that these are the syringes in the hard pack with a gray plunger. The only ones long enough to work with a gtube. The ones in the peel pack (which they are now sending in replacement for the pictured syringe) have a tip too short to use, and the plunger will break after a couple of uses.

I am not sure why kv pet has switched suppliers or sellers, but they do not come from kv pet any more. It is maddening when you go into your account history to reorder the same product you have ordered for years, and they switch you to a different supplier without your knowledge. The new suppliers could care less if you are a long term customer or not, and ship you the cheapest product while still charging you the premium price you used to order the good syringes.

Oh and complaining gets the door slammed in your face.

Here is hoping they will come back to being pro-customer instead of pro-money.
