Airdate: 04/06/08 For the first time, a top Pentagon insider gives a behind-the-scenes look at the lead up to the Iraq war. Douglas Feith was in Donald Rumsfeld's inner circle, and says the attack on Iraq was a defensive move against possible future threats from Saddam Hussein, not a retaliation for the 9/11 attacks. Feith, the former undersecretary of defense for policy, also tells Steve Kroft about the dismantling of the Iraqi army and other controversial decisions.

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." 60 Minutes is notoriously biased to the liberal agenda, but this segment should make everyone aware that any ideologues can become too powerful if left unchecked.
