As I've sat in audition after audition, watching the same pieces being performed, watching actresses performing pieces that they were not suited for, I have wished I could hand them this book on their way out and say "Next time - try one of these."
Of course, that would mean they'd get a next time. If you've only got one chance, it 's worth getting the book first.

Very good but still didn't have what I was hoping to find for an audition for Our Town. I was misled by the exsistence of a sister book "Young Women's Monologues" which led me to believe that this would not have monologues for teens or young women. I'd estimate that about a quarter of them are for under 30 and teens. Disappointing for a 50-year-old.

This book was exactly what I was looking for and needed. They should make more books like this because it's hard finding decent monologues for women that are taken from actual plays, and this book did a pretty good job with that.

A great buy for women who want a little something new when it comes to their monologues. Great for anyone female between the ages of teen and up to their 60's. I definitely recommend this. I can't wait to give it a try myself! I've already read through a majority of it and I can easily say that I'm super excited to put this book to work. Great job! Can't wait to see other people using it as well!
