4.0 out of 5 stars Checked the specs
I was intrigued by the reviews. A good point was how many lumens did it put out? So, I went to the GE website.
Their GE 60W regular bulb put out 865 lumens for 1000 hours of use.
Smarthome 60W bulb put out 530 lumens for 20,000 hours of use.
You be the judge. I would use the Smarthome for overhead lights and if I needed a reading light, I'd use the GE.

2.0 out of 5 stars What is the light output
This long wordy description manages to not tell us what the lumen output of these bulbs are, which I believe is a legal requirement for at least the packaging. 20,000 hours burning 60 watts with the output of a Christmas light is going to hurt the wallet at $3 a bulb when compact fluorescents are $2 a bulb in the same quantity package at Wal-Mart.

5.0 out of 5 stars aero-tech bulb, July 18, 2008
This review is from: 20,000 Hour 60-Watt Frosted Light Bulb (6-pack) (ULA-95) (Misc.)
For the life of me I don't understand why anyone would buy a fluorescent bulb over an aero-tech bulb. Aero-tech bulbs lasts 20,000 hours vs, 10,000 hours for a fluorescent bulb. If you break a fluorescent bulb it's a really big deal to clean it up, you have to dispose of them in specified places-which small towns don't have, and they do not work well at all in cold weather. Oh, and the light they emit is awful.
